We are very happy thus far with our daughter's experience at Lottie Schmidt. The principal seems to run a well-organized and well-behaved school. Our daughter had a great experience in Kindergarten and so far loves first grade. We are looking forward to her spending the next 5 years at such a well run school. I am quite surprised at the 2 negative reviews as this seems out of character based on our experiences at the school.

My son attended Lottie for 3rd-5th grade. He was a challenge and was instantly labeled as a 'ADHD' child. His fifth grade experience was the worst ever. There were constant missing assignments that were never addressed until right before report cards even after alerting the teacher that we would like to know his missing assignments. Trying to organize him and help him at home was unsuccessful because of lack of school cooperation . I might also add that my son was tested and is not an ADHD. This affected his self esteem and only hurt him.He is now an A, B student in a local charter school 5 years later and we would never recommend Lottie. The teachers are stuck in their ways, and kids like my son get kicked to the curb. Your child is just a number at Anchor Bay, glad we moved schools!!

I have a first grader who has had a wonderful experience and recieves excellent attention even though there is 30 kids in the class. The kindergarten teacher was so interactive with the students she helped get my son the extra help he needed with speech, reading and physical therapy, that had been overlooked at the preschool he attended for two years. The whole staff takes an intrest in the students. I am in the school at least twice a week and see the staff interacting wonderfully with each student. I love the school and would recommend it to everyone.

I have two kids who went to LMS. Very positive experiences for both of them. I think as a parent if you get involved in your child's education, they will have a positive experience any where you go. Lottie was fun for the kids and the teacher really care about the students. It makes me sad to see the 2 star review. If the school is dealing with bad parenting the school can not alway fix all of your child's problems. Parents need to spend time working with there kids. Home issues can destroy any school experience. We loved this school. Both of my kids are honor roll student in High School. Thanks Lottie staff!

I wouldn't have my kids at any other AB elementary. My oldest child went K-5 and my youngest is now in 4th grade. Mrs. Berglund is a fantastic principal! The teacher selection process matches the student with the 'right' teacher, with comments from parents taken into consideration, and we have only had 2 matches (one per child) that weren't fantastic. There have been a lot of retiring teachers in the building and that has created some lack of continuity. The parent-teacher group works very hard to create a great environment for the kids. My only complaint, and this is not Lottie specific, is that the MEAP prep takes so much away from the overall education - if it's not on the test it doesn't get much attention. That's not the way to produce well-rounded, well-educated, productive members of society!

Wow, what a terrific school I have one son that has just finished the third grade. Every year so far the experience has been wonderful. The teaching staff has fostered my son's academic and social growth. Every year they have matched my childs learning style to a teacher that has been able to really reach out to my child and challenge him to be his best. The office staff is friendly and helpful. The principal is always around, her mere presence in the hallway is so wonderful to see. I would definatly reccomend this school.

My children attended this school (k and 2nd gr). The school district is packed to the gills and the student/teacher ratio was high. My 5 year old walked out of there with 0 self esteem, and behind in every area of learning. I don't know if it was the teacher or school. The K teacher was awful. He walked in a happy little boy and left there a mess. We decided to move to another school district and his 1st gr teacher was a the best. He is now academically where he should be. I wasn't impressed w/this school or the teachers at all.
