Springfield's philosophy of education is "Make Your Life Count for Jesus Christ." This goal is consistently practiced through the faculty, staff, and students by keeping them accountable for their actions, work ethic, attitudes, and classroom performance. The educators strive to train their students to a higher academic level, not just push them along in a curriculum with no goals set while the student attains nothing concrete. The eductation given to each student is one that will challenge them in both academics and thinking process skills training them for college. If a school can offer the answer to the purpose of life through education and example it should receive more than 5 stars; Springfield offers this.

I graduated from this school and it has prepared me greatly for college; allowing me to get an excellent job, which helps me serve Christ. I loved every bit of this school and I still love it. The faculty cares for the students, making sure they emphasize to always put Christ first in our lives. I would highly recommend Springfield Christian Academy.

Springfield Christian Acadmey has made a hugh differance in the lives of our children and our family! The teachers never give up, they stay after school as long as it takes to help students that need any extra help! We will alway be greatful for the attention that each student gets! We have had our children in a number of private schools and none has come close in the academics and the sweat spirit of SCA. Just give it a try. So pleased!!!!

Great school. Top notch for academics and spiritual environment. Excellent caring faculty. Good programs for a smaller private education, which means good teacher/student ratio and student particicpation. Any negative reviews due to unshared philosophy of education. Grads have been qualified and welcomed into all colleges; public, military, private, and christian. Facts speak for themselves and are better than subjective viewpoints. If you're looking for the best over-all, well-rounded education for your child, This is it!

( continued)This school is overly isolated from the realities of life for many reasons. Any true Christian knows there are all types of families, and successful at that. I do not recommend any child be subjected to this environment of labeling and delusion .

Great School! I had one graduate from here and 2 that recently had to leave because we were relocated out of state. The biggest thing they miss about Mi is their school, SCA. MOST of the teachers are great. It is not worth sacrificing your child's spiritual well being by sending them to the public schools we have today. They test far above the public schools academically. No school is perfect, but this one is worth going to. Im thankful my boys were able to go there. It was worth any sacrifice we made.

Send your children here for elementary, and take them somewhere else for jr. high and high school. As a former student I would have to say that the elementary school was great, and really jumped started my knowledge as a child, but once i started jr.high and high school the opportunities went straight down hill, and in no way shape or form got me ready for the real outside world!

I graduated from SCA. The mental and emotional abuse that takes place in this cult type school is unimaginable. The education is substandard, and it does not encourage students to strive for higher educational goals. Instead, they brow beat, illegally search vehicles for secular items, and promote immaturity. Good Christians are not the result of sending to a 'Christian' school such as this. Quit drinking the kool-aid and realize there is brainwashing going on. Talk to former graduates!

I attended SCA from the 5th grade until I graduated. As a former student, I cannot in good conscience recommend this school to any parent. Yes, the education I received was good, but the mental and emotional impact it has made on my life was not worth it. There are many other schools in the area with great standards for excellence in education...please, look into them before you send your child here.

I attended SCA for 13 years; and had the privelege of attending it while Dr. Paul Vanaman was alive, & graduated with two of the highest honors. My Christian opinion is the following. It depends on where you want to end up when all is said and done. SCA is great for the MINISTRY minded, but not for a secular vocation. Things have changed since Dr. Paul Vanamans passing; and not for the better. If I had the choice to do it over again, I would have chosen Clarkston. I would have had more educational opportunities & etc available to me than what SCA had / has to offer, and the 'reality' culture shock after graduating not as bad. A parent needs to look at more than just the 3 items of this 10 pc puzzle.

Three of my children are attending this school, and I am very happy with the quality of the education. The academic program is rigorous, and the teachers care enough to help the students succeed. The music program is excellent, as is the art program. My sons love being involved in sports, and the coaches are wonderful! My children attended this school last year, and when I gave them the choice of whether or not to return this year, all three said they wanted to.

I went to SCA my whole life. I would not recommend sending your children there. The teachers are ok, but they don't study anything like Black history month or other important American history. They have a great choir but barely any extra curricular activities. If their is a possibility that your student will go to a secular university don't send them to SCA. They don't tell you about the M.E.A.P tests or give you any advantage to get into a regular school. If you are trying to save your kid from pressures like drinking sex or drugs, it still goes on just more people know about it. send them to Clarkston highschool and get involved in good youth group.

This is by far the best school in the area! My kids get an excellent education, learn discipline and respect for others, and get lots of personal attention, all at a very reasonable price. My kids routinely test two or more grades above the national average on the Stanford Acheivement Test every year and I attribute that to the excellent quality of the teachers at SCA. The teachers and the rest of the staff truly care about each child in the school and it shows!

Community ratings and reviews do not represent the views of GreatSchools nor does GreatSchools check their accuracy or verify the reviewers' identities. Use your discretion when evaluating these reviews.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
