classrooms are overcrowded. Most have 30 kids to one teacher. Lunch is another story. Kids do not have enough time to eat. They are constantly reminded to hurry up. I witnessed a kindergartener gagging because she was rushing. The teachers are all pretty good, but they are expected to cram way too much down these kids throats. Not enought physical education time. Lunch menu is pretty much junk food.
I could not be more pleased with my two sons enrolled into Millside, I know that my children are being taought responsibility as well as their academics, the security of your child is in the best of hands, All doors are locked, while the children are in school, with the only access in throught the main door. Each teacher and staff have a walkie talkie on them. it is highly supervised. I was so very impressed when I joined my sons for lunch one day at the arrangment of the lunch room, and system they have there as far a as seating and garbages at the end of the tables and older children wiping up for the next group. It was so clean, quiet and not to mention all the well behaved children. Amazing. the bathrooms are kept spotless. the library is beautiful. A very organized top knotch school
The staff at Millside is incredible! From Martha to all the decitated teaches. Miss Stay, 5th grade teacher is a great example! Keep up all the hard work. Your strive to make a better school for all students and community shows.
My daughter started here in Kindergarten. Although it was not the school chosen by our district to bus her, thank God for schools of choice. Martha believes in respect & manners from the children that attend Millside and it shows in the respect that the kids have for themselves as well as anyone entering the building. Everyone who works or volunteers there is held to the highest standards and it shows!
Several years ago, when I went to this school, it was considered the best school in the city. The principal ran the school very tightly. During by student observations, I went back to the school. It is still the best school in the city. I benefited from it the day it opened. Students from there on have benefited from it. What can I say? The principal and staff are the reason this school excells.
This is a great school! The principal runs a tight ship and everyone benefits from it. The students are very well behaved. The testing requirements are high resulting in well educated students. My son was actually reading and reading well by the end of Kindergarten.
