Where so I get started with this school? First, they are running low on money and personally I think they wouldn't be running so low if they didn't fund so much into football, cheerleading and basketball. Second, some of the sports and other programs it says they have on this website are lies. They don't have a dance team, golf team, swimming team, tennis team, and they do not teach German and French. The students there are the worst. There are fights and drugs being brought into the school. People are always stealing electronics there. A lot of unknown bullying goes on at this school. Rude and disrespectful staff members. Many kids skipping classes and nobody doing anything about it. It's a very dirty school since they had to do budget cuts and now they only have 2 janitors. I'll admit there are some good teachers who genuinely care. But there are also some bad ones who you can tell are only there for the check. I would not advice anyone to go to this school.
my school may be small but that is what makes it great, the teachers know every one. i used to go to a big school and i did not know half the teachers. but in clintondale the teachers all know who you are. our events are made for the students, not for what people think we need, but for what we want and need. our school cares about the students and that is what i think schools should be. how can a place help us learn if they don't care. i am happy to say in my school i don't need to worry about that
WOW where do I start with the wonderful things that are going on at this school. I know that a few years ago Clintondale High School became the first "flipped" school in the country. They have now become the models for many other schools. They have been written about in the USA Today, Forbes and the Wall Street Journal. Their principal (Greg Green) was even interviewed on CNN. A lot has chanced over the past few years and most of it for the good
SCHOOL OF CHOICE WHY WOULD YOU SEND YOUR KIDS TO CLINTONDALE .TEST SCORES ARE AT THE BOTTOM.NO MONEY VERY FEW CHOICES IN CLASSES .VERY FEW GOOD TEACHERS THAT CARE.THIS SCHOOL SHOULD BE CLOSED.TAKE IT FROM A PARENT WHO WENT THERE.THIS SCHOOL IS A JOKE.
I moved to this school on my senior year after attending a private school over seas. I'm very displeased with the quality of education at this school. It's a joke to be honest. Text books are easily 10 years out of date, facilities are worn out, and the technological center ( computer lab) do not even have working computers. This school is at least behind 3 years in education meaning they are teaching seniors what sophomores should be learning. If you want your children to fail in the future then by all means send them to this school.
I am very pleased with the education at the High School as compared to schools from around the area. The teachers are thoughtful and connect with the students. The fighting that does occur is equal to the other High Schools in the area. I am thankful to the schools extra efforts to help students be able to graduate.
Great small school with small town feel. Very please with all experiences we've had over the last 7 years. Looking forward 6 more!
i attend clintondale high scool and ok i know people say that clintondale is a bad school but it is just ignorance and students there that complain about the school are just are stupid and need to think what they are actually going to do with their lives and try working together. i believe that if we believe in each other we can make clintondale a better school for everybody.
I have had 3 children in Clintondale with 2 of them graduating from there. I am looking into school of choice now. I get very frustrated with the 'free days' or movie days. I think they should spend more time teaching, and teaching things such as banking, filling out applications, interviews, etc.
This school is not as horrible as everyone says. My children are doing quite well there. They are smart and active in the school. I am also active with the school. I think most of the problem is the lack of parent envolement with the school and with their children
this school is horrible. they had fights and a lock down on the same day. i called my mom in tears. becausei was so terrified.
This Is A Great School I Love My Child Going To Clintondale High School
I go to Clintondale. Yes, there are bad students, yes there is a lack of money, yes there is not much choice in classes. Even so, Clintondale is a good school. The teachers are awesome. They care a lot and will try to help you in any way they can. Clintondale is a very close knit school. As cliche as it sounds, we are one big family. If a student does'nt do well, they only have themselves to blame.
Full of delinquents that don't care about the school, the faculty, or the students who go there that actually want to learn. My child is there to learn but can't because of constant class disruptions due to insubordinate students.
I graduated from this school in 2003, and I have to say that I had a wonderful experience. The teachers in this school district were very caring and attentive. The scores on my MEAP test allowed me to get a scholarship towards college. I know have a Bachelor's degree.
I am a parent of a ninth grader this year and I have to say that I am very pleased with the structure and how well kept the school is ran. The teachers are caring and they show great concern for the students.I feel a sense of ease dropping my daughter off every morning knowing that she's in good hands.
Clintondale's less-than-impressive academic curriculum isn't so much the result of poor performance on the part of teachers or administrators, rather, the main blame must go to the students. A vast majority of Clintondale students are lazy and do not seek challenging courses. This lack of mental curiosity has resulted in cut-backs of certain programs, most noticeably in Language courses. Low morale for the school is prevalent through almost all students, who are mostly concerned about the dress-code and proms rather than the quality of their education. The student body's lack of interest in their education negatively affects the few who are, as it makes it economically reckless to continue to fund advanced classes with only 5 or 6 students. The administration dumbs-down the curriculum to accommodate the student body. The school has always championed its sports and music arts achievements, which, unfortunately, are the only things the school can brag about.
Clintondale has a problem with putting too much money into their sports programs instead of recognizing actual intellectual programs. When the bond issue came up this year and we got the grant they decided to put down a new gym floor that was just re-done a couple years ago instead of re-doing the auditorium stage which is in need of re-surfacing. Many of these students dis-respect the teachers and interrupt the classroom, instead of the teachers punishing these kids they just let them go on because they are too scared as to what might happen to them.I currently attend Clintondale and have since kindergarden. I only wish that I would've had the opportunity to transfer schools in high school.
Clintondale High School has its good and poor qualities. The best thing about the school is the performing arts. Our bands, choir, and drama programs have received numerous awards. I feel that the safety and discipline actions are not very high, the school has a reputation for being a 'rough' school. The school doesn't offer high academic classes, such as Calculus or any other foriegn languages other than Spanish. Clintondale does not offer a guy's tennis team. I believe that students at Clintondale can't grow to their full potential.
Although some Advanced courses are offered, class subject diversity doesn't exist. Curriculum is boring, and class pace is slow. Dropout rate is high, as well as those who move to other schools. The environment is very entrenched with low-middle income individuals who feel 'hopeless' yet do not have the programs available to them to help them out of that pattern we know so well. Considering the size of the district, the area it covers, and what it is comprised of, I'm surprised it (and Fraser HS) have yet to be assimilated into one of the larger districts. This should be done, as it would expand programs, funding, accountability, and give a real cha.nce to those in the area. I attended this district grades 5-12 and school-of-choice didn't exist until my junior year so I didn't have a chance at a better environment somewhere better. Poor morale, hostile environment.
