This is the best school in Clintondale! Never had any problems. Have 2 kids going. To bad I have to go out of district for middle school. Mrs.Lamont is great and the staff are simply the best. Would send my children there before Rainbow, especially Parker.Congrats McGlinnen for the education you bring to every student.See you in the fall.

I have always liked McGlinnen. The teachers and the staff are wonderful. My children loved being there. I will be sending my younger children there also.

McGlinnen is an excellent school! My kids have been going there for 5 years. I have never had any complaints. There is many opportunities for parents to get involved which in turn helps our children do better. The kids learn much about giving their time for charity. They stepped up to the challenge to help raise money for Tsunami victems and the hurricaine victims. The principal is a wonderful lady who really cares for our kids. You couldn't go wrong at this school.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Michigan used the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in math, reading and writing; in grades 5 and 8 in science; and in grades 6 and 9 in social studies. The MEAP is a standards-based test, which measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Michigan. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, the Michigan State Board of Education implemented new definitions of what it means to be proficient on the MEAP test. The new standards for proficiency are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.
