Coloma High School leaves much to be desired. There are a few very good teachers there that seem to love their job, and treat the students with dignity. However, the majority of teachers I have come across are burned out and no longer belong in a position where they influence young people. When you start to dread going to work....it's time for a new job, I understand this is not, by any means, an easy job- but you are dealing with kids futures.

Students can get a great education at Coloma High School. What they put into it, is what they'll get out of it!

Academic programs are lacking in funding and teachers that put effort into their work. Extracurricular activities are average. The music department is growing along with sports programs. It would be nice if some of the money going to sports would be spent on equipment for the classroom and a few dedicated teachers. Parent involvement is lacking a great deal. The same few sets of parents do virtually all the involvement. I was not prepared to enter college. If given the opportunity to transfer I'd highly suggest you take it.

This school is one of the hardest schools to get out of with the senior projects. the way I look at it is that the kids work there whole life to leave and its just getting harder.

Coloma School has a teaching staff that is willing to work with parents and their children for the best education for that individual. Eveyone is friendly and available when you have questions. If there is something that comes up that needs attention the staff is quick to respond. Students are lucky to have a school the cares about them as individuals.

I think that this could be a better school if the teachers would put more effort into teaching their students.

In a sub-par city approx. 1 square mile in size, Coloma does the minimum amount of drudging along with the minimum amount of funding it gets. Dissafected students and mediocre staff pale in comparison to the melodrama and dysfunction-riddled administration, If the option to send your child to a different school arises, do not hesitate to take the opportunity.
