The concept of this school is great. However, intergrading Montessori teaching methods within a public school, is challenging, and requires a level of organization that is not present here. Leadership is lacking, and you are left feeling that the whole program is quite loosey-goosey. Parental involvement is primarily female. There seems to be unlimited access to classrooms, and parents are allowed to stay in their own childrens' classroom for no apparent reason. The teaching staff appears to be competent and dedicated. For the most part, my child was happy here, and I am comfortable with his academic progress. As for me, the entire experience left me somewhat disturbed.

The quality of the academic programs in the Montessori program is high, as is the level of parent involvement. Because of the nature of the Montessori school, some extracurriculars may be limited as compared to other elementary schools, but the commitment of the teachers and additional parent involvement, in addition to the excellent curriculum more than make up for any limitations. Also, the teachers (especially, but not only, Ms. Nellie) do an excellent job of planning field trips and additional activities.

This school is so wonderful. It has wonderful children and teachers that care. There is special education kids that your kids can interact with. there are extracurricular activities such as Chess, STAND, Girl Scouts, etc. The children have a wonderful playground, field, and track. There is phsical education, art, music, and band. There is also ther Safety Patrol that helps keep kids safe. We are Montessori so we do hands-on activities. Parents have the option of helping with a variety of things like concerts and dinners. When looking for a school this is a great school.
