I moved my kids here from a much larger school system and needless to say I was a little worried about the quality of education. I can say there was nothing to worry about. My kids have excelled far better than they ever would have at the larger school district. The teachers care more about their students and want them to succeed. Every school has issues with, bullying and the normal high school stuff. However, those issues were rampant at the larger district & as far as I can see it's more controlled here in Deckerville. Do I think the it's a perfect system? No, there are no perfect school sytems. I give it A+.

Teachers at this school are the bullies, not the kids. And the Principal is buddies with these awful teachers so even when he says he will look into something NOTHING comes of it.

The Algebra program is in trouble. 4 of 52 students failed the first semester test last year and that teacher is still there! Parents want change, students NEED change.

As a former staff member, I can honestly say that the administrative staff during my tenure at Deckerville was the most professional and effective staff I have worked with. Like all schools, Deckerville deals with financial difficulties, but manages to way more, with less. Most of the teachers live in or near the community, and care for the success of the school and the students. The curriculum was appropriate for typical students Deckerville served, while I worked there, but will likely change dramatically, due to revised state requirements.
