Mrs. "B" is ruining this school! She has been a teacher for 27 years and uses bullying and intimidation towards the students The principal sticks up for her and because she is tenure they are unable to do anything about her. Many students are leaving the district because of her and her class size reflects that. She has the smallest class in the school. If you have a choice do not send your child to this school until after second grade!

Very good school for being small. I graduated from there and would rather go there than any other school. With the small classes you get more attention/help and the teachers are easy to talk to. You are viewed as a person rather than a number unlike the bigger schools.

For being a school of just around 400 students they find a way to keep decent options for the students as in classes. The classes are small so all the kids have their oppurtunity to speak and makes it easier for everyone to socialize and get to know each other. For new students it probably is a little easier adjusting to a new school like Deerfield unlike it would be in bigger schools. The students will engage in conversations and make sure the new kids have their chance to tell about themselves. Over all it has the basic extracurricular activities due to there size.

Kudos to Dr.Calahan. She is a wonderful Principal who doesn't care what a childs last name is. Before she came here we had problems. If you were a townie you were treated very well if you weren't originally from here you were treated like garbage. It's nice to see that a last name does not determine if you are a good child or bad.
