I agree with the post previous that indicates a concern for how the children are treated by parapros. I have to question supervision that these staffers are given. The volunteers are given the same unfettered jurisdiction. Specifically, I refer to the DOGS volunteers. They seem to have lost sight of the purpose of the program, are not trained properly in it, and are becoming a nuisance to students. It may be time to get a regional DOGS rep back into the school to retrain these folks. They are not there to discipline the kids, but to watch over them. DKES used to be a better school. The lack of concern by the administration is disconcerting to say the least. I am sadly disappointed. DKES is not all bad. There are a select number of sincere staff who are minking the school tolerable. Unfortunately, they are becoming an extinct brand. This school needs a fresh review and an honest look into their policies of conduct and screening. I am grateful for our new state legislation on tenure. Maybe now, the staff will listen to parents.

As, I think, in all schools DKES has some remarkable teachers and some who need to retire because they've lost their "love of teaching" and are just getting by. I had such high hopes for the administrative staff, since they are personable and available to parents. Unfortunately, they do not respond to concerns with action. Specifically, beware of some of the "paraprofessional" staff, as they are allowed to behave inappropriately mean and rough with students.

I am very pleased with the teaching staff at Delton Kellogg Elementary, my daughter is in the second grade and is in Special Education she has had many teachers, all of whom have gone beyond my expectations to help my child be successful. I am proud to be a panther!

Good school, great activities for the kids. The teachers are quality teachers, but need to be more in line with the rest of the district.

Delton elementary is a great school. The preschool teachers are excellent and the kids learn so much. Most of the elementary teachers are great and seem to really care about the kids.

Although the principal and some of the teachers are wonderful - PIE (Partners in Education) tries to run the school. The school scores have gone down for the last couple of years and continue to do so. The bus is horrible at this school. The kids are all bussed together (all grades)and they are out of control!

I am a parent of a student at Delton Kellogg Elementary school. I am very impressed with the dedication of the teachers, administration, and staff. The school is overflowing with caring teachers who put their whole heart into making each student feel successful both academically and socially. I have been to several schools and never have I felt so welcome and supported. Their administration is leading them in a positive direction. When someone asks me what school my child attends, I proudly say 'Delton Kellogg.'

I agree with the statement before this that the teachers at the school can be the best you would find in any district, however, check the MEAP scores and advocacy groups who have pointed out the low performance and lack of transparent communication. The school has a culture of putting students and families last. The enrollment decline and numbers of families exercising school of choice options are proof that quality must be improved. My children will be going to a school of choice next year as we want the best public education possible and Delton Kellogg is not the choice after careful research on AYP and MEAP scores. I rated parent involvement low as it appears to our family that other than fundraising we are not encouraged to make a true impact on quality. This school has a lot to do on improvement.

I have had three children who have attended delton elementary so far, i have always been pleased with their teachers, and the quality of their education. The staff listen and make every attempt to work with parents. The special ed.Programs are top notch, the students feel safe and respected. Our children are treated with respect and kindness and receive great educations. I've even had one 4th grade teacher who stayed over one day per week- on her own time to tutor my son in math. The preschool is exceptional. They are given great opportunities at dkes.

Delton school has some dedicated teachers. though the buses are not as dedicated to their work. my son was bullied everyday on the bus, even after the so called bully free program. he was brought home with bruises and scraps and no one seemed to know why it was still happening despite my complaints. i dont think that all grade levels should be on one bus.
