I will be looking for a new school for my son. I know that most public high schools have problems but there's quite a lot at Finney, too many to name! I cannot recommend this school to anyone.
My name is tiffany and i was a student at finney high school for the year 2006-2007. I had no choice but to come here because the other schools were full. It's not even a school its a juvenile center. My parents were very unhappy. Some of the counselors had attitude problems. If you are sending your child to finney you have 2 options #1 teach your child how to fight or look for another school.
I am a current student at finney high school and I have no other choice but to say that finney is a great school.Taechers are involved with their students and really care about them. The principal is on his students everyday constatly. We have a very excellent basketball team and football team.A lot of kids are improving including myself. Parents are involved with a lot of things that go on.We have an nice after school program.
I believe that Finney has a lot to offer to our young and talented up comers. Finney offers football, baseball, basketball, and etc. Finney isn't a bad school its just all about the people getting involved with the school. Finney is one of the finest high schools that I've attended and I've been there since my 9th grade year. I have to say that Finney has offered me a lot and for that I am grateful to be apart of Finney High School. When I started out at Finney I thought that the school wasn't for me but I saw different. Finney helped me to become a better student and a better person and it also helped me to develop into an astute young lady with lots of talent.
My name is Krystal Mason I am a graduate of Finney High School. I think Finney is a wonderful school I don't appreciate people downing my school it's not the school that is bad it's the student they send there if kids wanna learn they learn if the don't then they don't it's not the schools faught.
There are multiple initiatives and programming brought by Finney's Administration and partnering agencies to promote students' success at Finney High. If you are a current student and interested in afterschool support in tutoring and other fun activities just plan on staying after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and report to SAFETY. If you interested in a production of a play and performing arts report to the media center after school on the three days to Kabaz staff. If you are a parent and a friend of the school please come and join the Finney Youth Initiative. We need your support. Great things are happening at Finney. Help us make it happen! My Name is LaTina Elliott And I know attend Finney High School. And I have to disagree with all the people downing Finney. Why? Because Finney staff is trying very hard to get good scores on test and they are trying to improve Finney behavior wise. I think Finney is great school. And most of the people who complain about Finney kids and what Finney is not doing for there child is probably because there child and or sibling is one of the problems. I am now a sophmore and I have a 3.0 and I wouldn't want to attend any other school except Finney. Yes we do have fights but, what school you know that dont have them. But the staff is trying really hard. So stop hating on Finney Show us your support instead of your criticism.
I am a member of the gtaduating class of 2004 and Finney really helped me alot. My senior class did alot of things to attempt to better the image of the school, but there was only so much that we could do. Since my ninth grade year the school changed drastically. The principal and adminstrators did all they can to make things better. We the students also realized that if we wanted things to change we also had to do something to help. That's where the assistance of the parents and community came in. People say the school is terrible but they don't realize that it doesn't only take the work of those in the school but the help of those outside.
This school is getting better each and everyday. their are less fights to barely none and the uniforms are a great new approvement but I do not agree with there fence around the schoool but other than that the school will improve a lot in the near future thanks to out principle Alvin Ward.
From my experience Finney has become to be one of the worst high schools ever starting this very year I think that we could get better if thee were more parents envolved inthe school and if there were more discipline.
My daughter goes to this school and I must say I love it. It has the right enviroment and the teachers understand the childs problem and does not get frustrated easily. I think this school deserves 2 thumbs up!
My brother currently attends this school and I have to say that it is disappointing. There is very little teacher involvement with the students. No homework is sent home and teachers often do not show up for work. Upon visiting this high school, there were 2 fights within 15 minutes of my arrival. Students were playing in the hallway after class had begun and teachers were no where to be found. I am currently searching for a new school for my brother.
I am part of Finneys class of 2003 and this school has change alot since I was in 9th grade. The principals at that school are doing a very good job. They where very active with us kids. One of our principals coached our girls track team just because he wanted too.I think finney is a wonderful school.
This school is very poor in its academic program. My daughter was not allowed to bring books home. Completed homework in an hour for six classes. Counselors do not return phone calls or assist the children in meeting their goals. I also had a niece who attended Finney and scored terribly on the SAT eventhough she got B's at Finney. Teachers complain of overcrowding in the classrooms and their is just a lot of disorganization.
