The "Spirit" is truly here at Edward "Duke" Ellingon Conservatory of Music and Art School. The teachers, the staff are hard-working and courteous. The Performing Arts Classes are of the upmost character. Students have an opportunity to "Shine" not only in academics but in Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Drama, Dance and Arts.

Edward "Duke" Ellington is one of Detroit's best kept secret. The school has become a vibrant part of the community receiving recognition for not only its high academic performance, but for its artistic achievement in the arts (music, dance, vocal and the visual arts).

Edward Duke Ellington Conservatory is a diamond in the rough. Although the neighborhood is kind of rough, the school is Great! I really enjoyed working with the science and math instructors. The principal is easily accesible and very helpful. My daughter loves to dance and at EDE she has the opportunity to perfect her craft while engaging in a challenging acedemic cirriculum! Their test scores are phenomenal and the staff is really passionate about their students success!

Our school offers a variety of academic and performing arts programs. We cater to the whole child. Our school is student centered. Our school is recognized as a 'High Performing Middle School' and a 'Good Elementary School' by the Skillman Foundations. Our students have won awards in vocal, band and dance. Our art has been displayed locally as well as internationally. We offer Chinese and French to our students. Our teachers are all 'Highly Qualified.' Several of our teachers are Nationally Board Certified. It is for those reasons; I feel we have an exemplary school.

I love EDE because the teachers are caring and they are family oriented. I also love EDE because they have fought hard to keep the arts alive in the urban elementary/middle school.

I'm very pleased with the educational experience here at Duke Ellington. There are caring, loving committed teachers coupled with strong leadership. The school offers a variety of programs in addition to the academics. This helps to make a well rounded students. The school is clean and students are safe. The school is only two years old. However, in that short span, it has made AYP and received a 'B' grade from the state. I highly recommend attending Edward 'Duke' Ellington Conservatory of Music and Art! If you are looking for a great K-8 school. Come to Edward 'Duke' Ellington Conservatory of Music and Art. Where we have dedicated, unique, knowledgeable, students!!!!!
