As a former student I cannot say anything about the school's current quality. This school is good for anyone who has an interest in allied health careers. It is not for everyone, but it will defiantly rule out anyone who does not have a true passion for health careers and helping people. If Mrs. Booningburg is still teaching that is all that matters. She helped me realized my potential. I was about to drop out of school before I found MHA. I am now currently enrolled in Oakland Community College's Nursing program. Oakland Community College does not have a waiting list and they accept 220 students each fall based on GPA and a math dosing calculation test. Before I enrolled in this school my GPA was 2.5, and after it reached 3.3. I am now a 3.92 GPA in the nursing program (expected graduation date April 2013) and have been on the Dean s list every semester since I've enrolled in College. The curriculum I learn at MHA has helped me through my prerequisites and current studies. In addition, it gave me the confidence and determination to follow my dream career. I honestly do not think I would be in the position I am today without this school as my foundation.
I am very upset that I choose this school for my daughter. The people that they have running this school are all very unprofessional. they have a tardy policy that is unreal. if your child is late to school they have detention even if you have called due to traffice, death, car problem etc If the child can not attend detention on the day that they are tardy to school they suspend them for 1 day. I am a parent who works and cant take a day off of work because you have such rules that are not human like .They have teachers who teach 3 and 4 subjects who are over whelmed and can not handle the children of today.

If you are a parent reading these reviews, you will see the major downfalls of this school. The students obviously cannot spell, and are lacking in proper general education. I attended this school many years ago, and I will tell you that this is a remedial school. If you want your child to get a proper education send them somewhere else! The highest math class available was at a 7th grade level when the students attending were juniors and seniors. Yes students will receive there CNA, but nothing more. Also there was an awful lot of drug and alcohol use at school during school hours when I attended MHA,
MHA is a wonderful school. I am currently attending this skool. The teachers are fun and great. they provide excellent support. At MHA I learn alot just as any kid that would attend MHA. The principal is not the best and is kind of strict and a fish but trust me MHA rockz!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this school. We learn more then just school work. We are currenly learing to love people for who they are, not were they come from. Leadership skills is a big KEY. Most of all working together. i recommend that you send your child here. In summary to all of this the parent need to get inside of the so too......I LOVE the prinicpal!

I love this school. My daughter is getting a good education and a head start on some of the college classes that she will be taking come next fall. To have Anatomy, Physic, Pathology and Medical terminology in High school is wonderful. My one and only complaint about this school is the Principal now. Just accommodate the teachers with what they need and leave the students to their work. Seniors should be well prepared for college when they leave MHA. Very good school.

I Would recommend your child to this school. I am currently a student there and I love it. I am very interested in health and I love it. I do feel that the school should have more discipline but that will come in time. We are a fairly new school and have to get our stuff together. Soon you will hear a lot about MHA and what it gives to high schoolers and their future!

This is a great school. This school is for someone who wants to work in the Medical Field. The teachers are loving and caring. The care about your education, and yours feelings. Their extracurricular activities is great, and helping for all the students. All of the teacher are patient with each student. The parent involvement was is very important. There is a zero tolerance on fighting and arguing. The schhol is very clean and organized. Everone of the staffs are very respectful to each other and to the students. I would highly recommend this school to the parents, It is a great school.

My advice, don't send your child here. I was a student here, and was dissapointed everyday. I went through 3 different math teachers in 1 year. Science is the main subject taught if at all. Students have a lot of free days, and teachers never cared. Over all I was disgusted by this school. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone. And as an educator myself now I would not work at any charter school. These students need to know what other options are out there besides allied health. They would get a better understanding of all subjects in a public school. There is no discipline whatsoever, teachers care more about looking cool than the quality of learning.
