Winans Academy does not get your child for college. They concentrate on Performing Arts more than academics.

That last comment is not true. I am in advance dance also and I am not in club but I have performed. Usually a person in advance dance who does not perform are probably not really an advance dancer. They got in the class cuz of scheduling or they beg to get in advance bcuz if you r really good enough to b n advance u r n dance club. The dance & vocal r the best n the school

The elementary school is a train wreck waiting to happen. The principal and assistant principal don't know how to run a school. Please don't send your kids to this school! I made the mistake and have taken them out after 1 year.

Horrible School! The elementary school is going down the drain. The administration is out of control and they are ruining the vision!

I love this school so much the standards are higgh ,the teachers care, they have wonderful performing arts programs. We have traveled many places like paris, germany, and is planning for south africa. In the future i would send my kids here because it's safe, they do take the time to help you , and they also care.

It has been a total nightmare since i enrolled my child in this school. The staff as well as the principle refuse to extend a helping hand towards any child that may need help they would much rather get rid of the child by expelling them......Or at least that's what happened to my child. The kids who seemed to do well are okay, but for those whom may need an extra push, there is no hope! in spite of my continual efforts to try and communicate with teachers on a daily basis, my child continued to fail. They blamed this on behavior, in which i do not agree with. I say this because children are not robots, and must be given time to transition from elementary to middle school behavior. My child was never given this chance and was expelled not for reasons of breaking the law but because of being

Marvin L. Winans Academy of Performing Arts (Dominican Campus) is a '5-Star Jewel!' My daughter is a new student in 4th grade. She has always attended a private school; however, because her school was unsure about opening, I needed a comparable alternative. We ended up with an excellent school that had an Academic program just as strong as the Arts program. Had I know then what I know now, my daughter would have been at Winans' from its' inception. The 'WAPA Creed' confirmed God led us in the right direction. I thank God for 'the vision', and I thank God for Pastor Winans 'carrying out the vision.'

This is the school for students who want the exposure of the performing arts. The students travel all over the world with help from sponsors and fundraisers. Paris, Italy and all across the country. A great school!
