My son is finishing up his freshman year at U of D J and has had a great experience so far. The teachers are dedicated and truly promote 'men for others'. It is well worth the tuition and carpooling responsibilities.
I have been a cub parent for 5 years now and wouldn't have it any other way. even when issues come up, they are dealt with immediately and the communication with parents is wonderful. Don't let the others fool you, while some catholic high schools in the area place the emphasis on the quality of their sports teams and actively recruit athletes, UofD is an academics first school and the sports are the icing on the cake. My sons love The High and we are all Cubs for life!
The academic programs are fine, but the school's best asset is the propaganda surrounding it that it's a great place. We do a good job of promoting ourself, but there are some major problems in the school that are covered up. If I had it to do over, I might choose another school for my son. There are too many problems that are swept under the rug.
I am not a parent i am a student and i think that UofD Jesuit is a great school and a great environtment to get an education. Ive been there fo 6 years and im very lucky to call myself a 'CUB' you truly do become a 'man for others.'
I have had two sons graduate from this school within the past three years, and I couldn't be more proud or grateful. My sons entered a prestigious college well-rounded and well-prepared, with solid study skills, a variety of social experiences and mature attitudes that were learned or developed at UofD. They have remarked more than once about the advantage their UofD education is proving to be. UofD was well worth the obligations in terms of tuition, driving distance, standards, and participation.
One of Detroit's finest schools! Parents you can't go wrong...strong academically with lots of opportunities for the young men to develop into 'men for others' and of course mingle with the girls, during school sponsored social events. What a blessing that a school pro-parent school exists! A rare find to have 100 percent of the young men go on to college!
It is one of the most difficult and prestigious schools in michigan!
Excellent school, rigorous academics, students that are there to learn in a safe and clean environment. Somewhat expensive but worth it as the school is well recruited and rated by major colleges. You can't go wrong with a proper Jesuit education.
The greatest high school in the country, with the statistics to prove it. The 'High,' as it's known amongst the student body, has a long list of successful alumni, exciting extracuriculars, and a diverse student body. Go to www.uofdhigh.k12.mi.us to learn more.
My son is currently a junior at u of d jesuit. they are a school were they truly live thir motto 'a men for others', from insisting that the young men treat each other as well as their teachers, parents, visitors to the school with the utmost respect. each time i go there, i have never had to open a door for myself or carry a box that i have brought in. there always seems to be a young man around who just does it. My son has many academic challenges and each teacher and member of the administration has continued to provide support, whether it be one on one tutoring, buddying him up with a better student or assisting him in the learning center each day. when an unforseen medical diagnosis was made late in his freshman year the outpouring of love, support and caring has been nothing short of phenomenal. I will always be incredibly grateful that we all shared the u of d experience. they have taken the time and shown that we can make a difference one child at a time.
