Wow, I have never been to a school where you can feel the love! The principal is dedicated and hard-working. I saw him serving lunch, cleaning out in the front of the building, directing traffic!!! Man, he really cares!!!!
My school is the best school ever. The reason way i say my school is the best is because the teachers care about you for every thing that you need help they will help you out no matter what you are doing.so that is way i think my school it that best
This school has very unprofessional staff from the principal to the lunch staff. They talk the talk of praising your kings and queens they may teach them great academics, customer service skills are lacking.
Detroit Premier Academy is a wonderful school. I took my brother out of Detroit Pubilc Schools and brought him to this school. The principal at Detroit Premier Academy is excellent, because he talks to the students and keep them inline.
I taught at this school. It was a total mess from a staffing and administrative standpoint. It was a joke...and very sad to see that this is pretty much the best that Detroit can offer as far as an education is concerned. Leaving this school was a complete blessing for my career.
Hello my children currently attend this school and I am very upset how the some of the staff does not care about the students and do not take responsbility for any wrong that they do. It is always the parents or students problems. And out of 78 8th grades only 32 are passing. But Ms.Qasem is the best teacher there and Ms. Thomas is second.
I LOVE THIS SCHOOL! I have four children in this school. One in K, 2nd, fourth, and sixth grade. Their principle is a very hardworking young man that I have never seen before. My children have been to different schools in the past. The difference is clear. I will recommend Detroit Premier Academy to any body. I LOVE THIS SCHOOL!
I have two children that attend this school, First Grade and Kindergarten. Pros: The Teachers are caring and try their best to make sure that the students are meeting their academic goals. Even in Kindergarten, the children are taking standardized test, the NAEP test. Cons: Very little extra curricular activities for the elementary children. Also, leadership among the teachers is stronger than the leadership among the Principal(s).
I was very disappointed in this school. I found there was very little control in the class room. I think the teachers needed to be nuturing and promote a good healthy learning environmnet but instead the classroom was full of mayham and foolishness and I removed my child. I would not reccommend this school.
the staff is friendly. both my first grader and grade k children have improved academically since matriculation. But not enough diversity and / or extracurricular activities
I have three children that attend this school and compared to the other schools in the area this was a much better choice. If I ever had a issue that went unresolved at the school the NHA resolved it favorably. I like the school as a whole.
My name Is Taylor & recently attended Detroit premire academy. Its was a wonderful school with varous programs to help children succeed in the future.I took part in martal arts for a breif time and Sister to Sister and It taught me alot. There was no way Mr.Glass was going to let us fail and most of us dident. Thanks to DPA I recieved a scholorship and now I attend Henry Ford Early Colledge.Thank you Mr.Glass,You played a huge part in my future.:)
I think has and awesome moral focus but i do not think the school is great oraganizing function for there student and facaulty.
My son has been attending DPA since the 5th grade, he is now in the 8th. And I think this is a wonderful school. Since being at DPA my son has excelled. He is also a member of brother to brother , which is run by DPA staff. He is also on the basketball team. I think at DPA they strive for greatness and teach the children that failure is not an option. They are strict when it comes to bad behaviour. Which is not a bad thing. I would recommend this school to anyone with a child in the k-8.
Well i was currently attending Detroit Premier Academy. My name is Jaina and I have been going to this wonderful school for about 4 years. I just graduated from the eighth grade but this doesn't mean that this is the end. This school is very strict and has definitely brought attention to my eyes and mind that education is more important then anything in the world. The teachers are good or should i say great!! When it comes to teaching and taking time for the ability of each student to learn something new, Detroit Premier Academy all star teachers are the bomb at doing that!! I learned so much and they have indeed prepared me for high school.
I am very pleased with this school. I have been with this school since the beginning. I can say that I have have seen improvement over the years. I wish there was more schools like this in the Detroit area and possibly a high school that was in relation to Detroit Premier Academy. Keep up the good work.
I have a daughter in the 7th grade at Detroit Premier. She has been there since the 5th grade. She is progressing extremely well. She has been in the advanced class for the last two years. Last year she traveled to the south to tour black colleges. This year she has been chosen to tour Princeton, Harvard and Yale. She is also a member of Detroit Premier's after-school program called Sister II Sister. In the group she is being mentored by two of Detroit Premier's teachers. Last year the group of girls were taken by limo to a play at the Gem Theater. I really think that this school is a hidden jewel in the community.
I am a student at Detroit Premier Academy and I love my school. The reason I like this my school is because they care about you and your feelings. Whenever you get in trouble they sit down and talk to you. They don't just send you down to the principal to get you suspended. If you are having a hard time they send you outside the class and let you cool down, then when you have cooled down they come out and talk to you and explain why you are outside of the classroom. Also, before you get suspended, they listen to what you have to say and explain why you are getting supended. I'm also apart of Student Council. Student Council has taught me alot about being a sucessful student and showing respect to others.I love my school so much. Thank you.
so far so good. I think with the parents involved we can do even better. I also would like to see a little more extracurricular if any, that's what they seem to lack.
