Ambleside School is like no other that I know. The children at Ambleside not only learn, they actually seem to enjoy it! The school is very hands on, learning through experience and multiple intelligences. No standardized tests, lots of time outside in nature, music and art, average of 3 field trips per month, children read great literature, teachers that really nurture - this school is FABULOUS!

There isn't a better elementary school in the city than this one! Because teaching is their calling and not just their job, the staff creates an atmosphere that is welcoming and engaging for all students. And the kids learn! As a classroom helper I get to see teaching at its' finest. My favorites are history and spanish songs. I (andmost of the other parents) love to learn right along with the kids. Another thing I love is that they provide outdoor recess twice a day. No other schools around, to my knowledge, even acknowledge the need of children for outdoor recess let alone provide it twice daily. And then, there is art, gym, handcrafts, composer study, etc., etc, etc.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
