Right now we still give this school 5 stars, but are worried. Huge turn over in staff, a 5 star principal left to go to Arizona . . . new superintendent. . . our family is concerned. We hope they will be able to continue with what has been happening

Our experience with Douglas Elementary has been amazing! Mr. Surian is so caring and fun that my kids look forward to seeing him each day. My kids teachers have been top notch and the faculty is super! The school encourages parent involvement and creates plenty of opportunities to socialize with fellow parents. My grade is an A+

The best thing about Douglas Elementary is the parent and community involvement. All parents are encouraged to spend time in the classroom, and even join their student for lunch once in a while! Community members are welcomed to volunteer with the LIFT program which gives them the opportunity to have a direct impact on a child's education. Also, I cannot give enough praise to the wonderful folks in the front office. Sue and Lourie, (and Mr.Surian!) seem to have a relationship with every student. I have seen countless students with a first lost tooth, minor injury from the playground, or special achivement to share, and the office is where they go for words of encouragement and loving attention. Well done ladies!
