One of the strengths of Escanaba Middle School is that it has a Related Arts Program. This program consists of art, industrial technology, and life skills. Some schools have dropped these programs but now realize that these are the areas that help students succeed in problem solving, working together with their hands and materials, arriving at a solution or project, and taking pride in their accomplishment or project. These areas are the only areas that truely make information about math, science, english, and social studies relevent to the students. As a parent who had two daughters go through Escanaba Middle School and take these classes, I thank the administration for offering these classes. Isn't this what education is about...helping the students succeed?
