Warner Upper Elementary School

My son is in 6th grade at Warner and he also attended in 5th grade. He has been fortunate to be placed in classes with good teachers. The music program is very good. The PTA and Proud Dad's Club work to provide extra-curricular programs like tennis, rugby, running club. The principal is very visible and approachable. It's a good school.

This new consolidation of the Farmington Public Schools system has really had a detrimental effect on Warner Elementary. There are over 1,000 5th and 6th graders at this school now. The teachers and counselors have very little relationship with the students, and there is almost no student enrichment (field trips, experiential learning, etc.). I am sure this was a great school prior to the consolidation, but its the kids who suffer while the teachers and administrators adjust to this new model.

Warner has great family support. They have groups that are specific to fathers/male guardians that is unprecedented! The community and family support is none like I have never experienced in a school district.

We have had a student in this school for two years now and have been very happy with Warner. Any problems (and there can be many at this age) are addressed quickly. The staff is most welcoming and open to parents and students. We are quite pleased with the promotion of Mr Watson from V.P. to P. this last year.

Warner Middle School has a exceptional academic program. From the start the children are pushed to acheive their very best. The teachers work with the children to guide them through the wonderful three year experience. The sports programs are great too. All of the teams (except the football team) have been practicly undefeated. The band program is excellant and the strings program (though a lot smaller), is very close to the level of talent as the band. The parents of the school are welcome at anytime to chat with the vice principal anytime there is a problem. The school is all around a lovely place to send your child to.

Wonderful Art program with a very qualified, personable and progressive teacher. Just go to the building and look at the walls leading to the Art room to know the attitude and quality of the teaching.
