This school was amazing..... the Carman Ainsworth school district is the nest place for your children to be.raised. I'm so annoyed with people who complain about the district... I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else!
I have found that Carman-Ainsworth Middle School has helped my child become a responsible adult. The teachers have placed a high level of responsibility on the children, so in turn, it has carried over at home. Thank you! The teachers have been supportive and helpful when it comes to getting support for my child.

My daughter has always had great teachers. She has been on the honor roll since she began middle school. She feels safe at school and the principal does a great job making sure that the students are safe and they are learning. My daughter is on the school swim team and loves it. I believe that Carman-Ainsworth middle school is a great school where the students learn and have a good time in their school. I rate this school a 5. Mother of 8th grader

We have two children in the Carman District. Both students are honor roll students with no disciplinary problems. We are very disapointed with the middle school staff and teachers. Parents are unwelcome, teachers are not helpful, students are unsafe. We will have to look at other schools for a quality education for our children. If you want to see for yourself, visit the school or call and try to speak with anyone.

Everything about this school is wonderful! Staff strive to improve students, medium classroom size and a large amount of classroom activities for students to participate in. I am glad to have my students attend this wonderful establishment

I am thrilled that my children love the school they attend! As a parent, you want your children to learn, be safe, and like what they are doing in class. The teachers make themselves available to answer questions that us parents may have. I use the internet to ask (homework) questions, and often times have gotten a response the same day. The administration is top notch. They have always been cordial, and friendly when I have ever asked questions or voiced concerns. I have never felt put off by any staff at CAMS.

The teachers, most of them, are helpful and understanding. The school looks great after the reconstruction done this last summer, and the programs are helpful. Drama seems to teach a lot, and, as far as I know, everyone is enjoying everything. Sports and music are plentiful, but there are only two art classes. but, over all, I wouldn't want to go to any other school.

I would have to agree with SOME of the comments I have read so far. Administration is not very helpful, this is true. Teachers do seem to have time for those who are gifted, However, there seems to be little quality instruction in general. Although my children are gifted and don't get into much trouble, I visit the school to check on my children's progress before report card time because I have gotten a few 'bad' surprises with no communication from the teacher. I didn't feel very welcome. I did speak with the principal and he made it clear that he did not share nor was he very interested in my concerns. Nevertheless, this school, by far, beats any school within a 50 mile radius. I hope the high school is better.

That person is 'on the mark!' Disgruntled parent? You'll find allot of us there! Quality School? The building and facilities are quality! (Thanks to our tax dollars) For the record, we coped! It was very unpleasant! Our children are strait 'A' honor roll students. (Guess who taught them 'us parents' the teachers wouldn't even answer kids questions and would belittle them (in Class) if they asked one!) 'Unfortunately, It seems that the greater percentage of teachers there are only capable of teaching 'gifted children' but then, I can teach gifted kids (anyone could) If your child is a slow learner God help you your doomed! If there is ever a problem involving your child, (or the teacher) you will receive the Child needs to learn responsibility speech (oh, you ve heard it before) However, you will never find anyone there actually claiming responsibility. Involvement? Parents are made to feel unwelcome!

I totally disagree with the previous comments. Actually, I found them to be very transparent. This is clearly from a disgruntled parent who has a student that wasn't able to cope with the structure that a quality school provides. The teachers and administrators in this school are quality and try very hard to accomodate the many diverse needs of the varying student population. A great place to learn not just subject matter, but also about life and how to interact with people.

Primary focus is discipline by humiliation and threat to obtain order, resulting in kids who hate school, lots of bullying (following administration lead,) and little or no education for the majority. Administration doesn't follow its own rules; disciplinary action varies dependent on parental involvement (if high, discipline is extreme - you're easy to reach,) intelligence (don't dare argue, they'll show you who's boss,) and race. Most suspensions are for 'insubordination' which means a child forgot his pencil, fell asleep in class, didn't put his coat away, didn't do his worksheet, or failed to ask how high when directed to jump. I would not recommend this school district to anyone unless the administration changed 100%. Some very good teachers, some very bad teachers, but principals are paid to ignore parental concerns and play God. Administration earns more and cares less. Look at the suburbs, my friends, as this district has gotten too big to do anything but spend money. Your children are not a focus, but simply a target.
