The leadership in this school is willing to do ANYTHING to keep its doors open. They divided a church which the building was meant for and basically took it over behind the back of the church. I would never send my child here, especially since they claim to be a Christian institution. They are teaching children to act unethically. The education in the elementary grades is adequate, but the upper grades are very lacking, especially for a struggling child. The cliques are very strong.

I have been very pleased with the student/teacher ratio at CCS. The teachers really care about the kids and they take the time to make sure a student understands the material. With a smaller class size, the teacher can also give a little grace if the student needs a little extra time on an assignment. Tutors are also available.

This school is being incredibly miss lead by the most self absorbed administrator I have ever been in contact with. The teaching staff struggles with providing students with quality education. If you cannot financially support this school, aka, make tons of money and donate constantly, you will NOT be appreciated nor truly accepted. Kapanka, the administer/principle, is more concerned with pitying parents into donations and staying cooped up in how office all day. Worst. School. In. Michigan.

Very dishonest leadership. Few opportunities for students who are not athletes or who don't belong to the families in charge.

Calvary Christian School (Fruitport) is a K-12 school with high academic standards, solid Biblical teaching, an outstanding athletic program, and excellent teachers, administrators and staff. It is a caring, nurturing environment for our children.

I continue to be impressed with the quality education my grand kids are getting at Calvary Christian School.

I am very pleased with the education my 2 children receive at Calvary Christian Schools. Not only are the academics challenging, but Bible and biblical principals are included in every area of learning. Parents are encouraged to be involved in the school on many levels. The staff is caring and we feel like a part of the school family. Next school year will be our 5th year of involvement with CCS.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
