This is a great school because of the teachers. And also the location of it.

Before we moved to Michigan my daughter went to a private school in North Carolina. We decided to try the public schools in EGR because of their reputation. They have lived up to that reputation and so much more. The atmosphere, parental involvement, teachers and staff, and neighborhood make this school just perfect!

Breton Downs has a high level of parent involvement in the school, with a variety of volunteer opportunities in the classrooms and assisting in school improvement projects, programs, etc. There is a very strong sense of community in the school, the surrounding neighborhood and the town itself. Level of education among parents tends to be quite high. East Grand Rapids is often described as a small town filled with overachievers...probably a good description! We had positive experiences with all of our childrens teachers over the years we spent there. Each and every one was really first-rate. An excellent choice of school.

A+ is the score I give to Breton Downs Elementary school. The teachers are highly skilled yet set goals so all students will be successful. We have had three children attend Breton School and we feel all have been well prepared for the academic rigors of Middle School, High School and beyond. We love the small town community spirit that EGR prides itself on!

With the safety and discipline issues, the reason for the 3 rating is because we have personaly had some issues in this area that were not dealt with at the begining. It was only after we complained did they do anything about the problem. Other than that, our experience with Breton Downs and the staff have been wonderful.
