We are going into our 4th year at KCA and have loved it. The teachers are great. You can tell They their students' best interests in mind. They have a wonderful principal providing a great Example of leadership to his students. The academics are outstanding and the children are Challenged to do their best and set goals to increase their test scores. Last year we bought a house in another Blue Ribbon school district but chose to keep our children at Knapp Because we are so pleased with the school.
I have 2 children who attend this school and over the past 4 years we've been extremely happy with the staff, and the academics. I would recommend this school to everyone! I cannot say enough about the teachers, the office staff, even the principal. We've been thoroughly impressed.
The school and staff go beyond the norms and make a difference in each child. They realize it takes team work from the entire community including asking parents to get involved. My child has an IEP and there are no fewer than 5 people at the meetings advocating for the needs, identifying the strengths of this child. I love this school. The office staff Lyn and Julie go above and beyond. Mr. Turcott cares about each student and knows them by name. Bigger schools will never be able to give you that!
Academically this school is great but the staff is very rude, inconsiderate, and discriminative. After two years of being here I'm so disappointed because I really wanted this school to work out.
I do not know where you get your information from because my daughter has 29 students in her class. Which is too many to get an effect education.
Knapp is a vibrant and wonderfully diverse school with excellent leadeship and academic achievement.
I've been going to this school for 9 years and have realized that once you get into the middle school everyone splits into cliques, if you're not a perfectionist, 'hot', or thin then you might be in a whole heap of trouble. The teachers are very young (in their 20's) and refer to themselves as 'old'?! They often act like teenagers, and are impatient at times but they can build up a great relationship with their students. :)
I was really pleased with my son's progress in first grade this year. He was struggling with his reading and his teacher and other specialists at the school helped us figure out why. They worked with him at school and sent home activities for us to help him as well. At the beginning of the school year, he was scoring below average-now, he scored well above the class goal for reading. We were able to turn somthing that could be negative for him into a great experience that helped him feel good about himself! I'm so glad that his teacher and the reading specialists were willing to take time to figure out how he learns in a way that makes him enjoy, not dread, his reading!
I've been going to Knapp Charter since 4th grade, and have really improved in my work. I am proud to say I am a student there. The teachers are willing to help each child individually, and it has a very safe environment! I wake up each morning, excited for school!
I have been attending Knapp for nearly 7 years. It seems that many of the teachers do not have a key in on the talents of the individual students. On the other hand, the teachers do seem to have a well meaning. They can make a relationship between a student (as much as their time allows, and they seem to go a little further than is required( which can make all the difference for a struggling student) I hope this review is especially helpful to those with gifted or struggling students.
I love Knapp Charter. The staff has been very welcoming. They all seem to be there for the right reason.
This is my first year with Knapp and so far I feel I have made the right decision to switch my daughter to Knapp.
My son and I love Knapp Charter Academy. He is in his first year there in kindergarten. His teacher is amazing, as is the principal and the ladies who work in the office. He is learning everything he should be and more. The environment is safe and the parents are very involved in the school. The Moral Focus is nothing you would find at a public school. The excitement and dedication of the staff seems to be contagious. I, like most parents, want nothing but the best for my child and we have found that at Knapp.
This is a great school if you are smart, thin, and physically attractive. If you are LD, overweight and average looking your life will be hell.
We love Knapp Charter Academy! The academic standards are high, our children are in a safe environment and every teacher our children have had has worked very hard to meet individual needs and to be available to us whenever we've need some extra time or help. We're so pleased and we've been at Knapp for 5 years.
By the tone of this paragraph, I would have to wonder if a situation happened causing this parent to be upset overall. I myself teach at this school and find these statements to be personally hurtful. No school is perfect and no teacher is perfect, but imagine yourself teaching 25 children by yourself. I have never seen a staff more dedicated, more moved and more motivated than the group of teachers I work with. Please stop by and visit, sit in a classroom, speak to our staff and I'm sure you will see that these 'young impatient teachers' are truly passionate and dedicated!
I have never witnessed such failure in my kids in my life. Since they started at knapp their academices have went straight down. the teachers are these young impatient group of indiviuals that don't have no time to seek the need and struggle a student may have my childrens grades are te worst since attending school. everyone put a big hype on charter schools but I don't see the advancement at all
This is a great school, the teachers are very patient and willing to work with the students. The academic program at Knapp is one of the best in the area. The students coming out of Knapp are more advanced than the majority of the public schools in the area.
This school is the best thing that could happen to my children! The parent and teacher involvement is unequaled in any of the other schools that I have seen or been involved with, and the kids are amazing. Due to a move, we briefly moved our daughter to a public school -- big mistake! We decided to make the drive on a daily basis to allow her to return to Knapp, and our younger two children will be there next year. I've never seen teachers more personally dedicated to their students' success; I consider the youth of the staff an advantage - they are creative, excited about their careers and able to relate to their students in a way that may be difficult for older teachers. The academic program is excellent, as well, and when you combine that with the environment, I can't imagine putting my children in another school.
I have two children that attended this school and one child is independently motivated the other needs a little more persuasion. Unfortunately the less motivated child was not given the proper assistance needed to suceed. I attribute this to several things. The average age of the teachers (principals included) was about 28-32. The skills level of these educators is unacceptable to me as a parent of a not average learning child. I suggest a more established school if your child has even remotely struggled in past years.
