The teachers and staff are wonderful. We did have issues with one of the first grade teachers Mrs Thomasma. Thankfully all the other teachers were so great that I would not want to send my kids any place else. This school has a very positive environment.

The teachers are great, and are continually learning themselves. The Principle is FANTASTIC, she ALWAYS puts the children first and is sensitive to their individual needs. One of the things I really like is how they start their day, someone greets the kids at the buses or classroom and personally says good morning and shakes each child's hand letting them know they matter and are cared for, what a great way to start the day. They have a program in place which encourages positive behavior verses focusing on negatives only. Mustang Pride system. We have three children one is special needs and one is an over achiever, I love how the school has programs in place that are appropriate for BOTH kids. I am so thankful for this school and the community that it is, there are lots of family activities put on by the school and the PTA, to further develop that feeling of community and to foster solid relationships. Would and have recommended this school to my friends that are both in district and out of district!!

Ms. Downs always seems to go above and beyond. She take time to talk to each student and parent whenever it is needed or requested. When you are in the halls it is very clear that the students respect her and love her! I feel very blessed to have a leader at this school that displays poise, grace and demonstrates all the traits that she asks her students to.

the teachers here rock!! They are able to gear lessons to each child as needed, The music program is fabulous, from the recorders, to the ukulele program was loved by everyone, and I must say that the music program they put on (once a year) is the best!!! She is always mindful of the time, and keeps things moving, entertaining and delightful!

Again I have a child who excels in most areas and she comes home with work that is still challenging for her, and I have another child who struggles and should be sent home with lots of homework, for things that are not getting done in school, however they also know that it is just as important to get play time outside and with family as it is to do work... they do expect your child to read everyday which is awesome!

They have a program in place that is designed to change the way students think and speak... for example you are not suppose to say I can't, instead you are encouraged to say I can't , right now.... They have many examples of this, it is awesome to hear that kind of talk being applied at home as well!

Again the Mustang Pride encourages students to be the best they can be in all areas. But one of the greatest things is not only do they expect respect FROM the students, they GIVE the students the respect that they expect.

They have many out reach opportunities through student council, things like food drives, and most recently water for Flint. They also have a fundraiser for the Heart Assoc. with the Jump Rope for Heart.... there are also opportunities to join other schools for other events, such as Relay for Life

the mustang pride program reinforces each of these traits and since it focuses on the positive the children respond well to the program and even get excited.

Ms Downs is the principal at Meadowlawn and she sets the tone for the school and the PTC. She always puts the interests of the kids first. It is obvious that she loves her job and that the kids really respond to and respect her.
