My child did not do well at this school. Fell in with the wrong crowd and did not do well. The teachers however, are a 10+ very helpful and supportive.

While I was an NHS student, I thought it was a decent, average high school - nice but unremarkable. But now as a parent, both of a child that has attended Northview as well as two other children who've attended three other school districts, I can definitively say that I'm incredibly impressed with the quality of the overall Northview operation, particularly the high school. The physical plant is superb (at one of my children's high schools, the roof caved in due to neglect). The teachers are both caring and involved in their academic progress. There are a tremendous number of areas of study available. The instrumental music program continues to shine state-wide. Compared to other districts, Northview is relatively safe. Some of the parents can be a little overtly conservative/religious but generally they're laid back and welcoming. After dealing with these other schools, I can say way to go, NHS staff!

One of the best schools in the area. Great teachers, great staff, great classes and special education programs. Small class room sizes. Great ratio teacher to children. When your child gets to middle school or high school, they have a real chance to get picked for band, football, basketball, volleyball, plays, etc. because the school district is relatively small. Northview is landlocked so you do not have the amount of children in the district and overcrowding issues to contend with here. Rockford is too big and has higher taxes

I am a mother of three teenage boys. I believe that if my children had of stay in the inner city schools, thet would not be doing as great as they doing now. They have been Northview school system since they in the 1st and 2nd grades, and I believe that the teachers are some of greatest teachers that I have ever seen., They take the time to teach the student and they will make a point to stay in touch with parents and they have an open door policy and make no mistake about it they do let the parents use it. I believe that God placed this special teachers and staff at Northview to make a difference in the lives of all the students. I am so glad that I came to Northview.

This is a good school for those that are above average. If you are struggling then you will need to find something more. There is no in between. It is hard to find the staff after school unless you are an athlete. Also go ahead and wear whatever you want there is no dress code especially for the girls!

I feel my son is doing great at Northview. He will graduate this year with good grades. This is in part to the teachers who did take time and realize he learns in a different way. Mr Matthews is one of the best and real shows genuine interest in all the students. Thanks to him I have seen a improvement in my sons self confidence. If I had sent hom to the parochiol school, I feel he would have been lost in the crowd. I would like to see more parental involvement, it is always the same families that are involved. But overall I am very happy and will send my others to the High School.

Thank you. When I left Northview High School, I was well prepared for the Big Ten school I now attend. While there, I had an opportunity to meet many faculty and administration, and I feel Northview students are some of the luckiest in the area. The AP Program is excellent. The number of interscholastic/club sports at the high school is incredible. The music program is great, too. I've talked with both the current Superintendent and Principal on many occasions, and I feel they both have an amazing compassion for students. You take out what you put in.

Northview High School is a very good academic institution. The music program is spectacular. Especially instrumental music. Parental involvement is high as far as music is concerned.

I am a former student -- overall I would say my education was standard, though I think my experience there could have benefitted from more diversity in both peers and classes. It's too easy in some of these white, middle class suburbs for kids to be bored and get into drinking and partying. I think that though Northview is a good school in a good neighborhood, but many parents feel too comforted by this and don't get involved enough in their kids.
