Aberdeen Elementary is one of the few positive results of public school budget cuts. It has absorbed the staff from several other local schools and consolidated it down to a faculty composed of people who are truly teaching because they believe in solid education as well as building and maintaining positive self-esteem and confidence in their students. This has been accomplished under the competent, dedicated, and caring leadership of Shelli Otten. I personally came through the East Grand Rapids school system and I am no less impressed with the faculty at Aberdeen than I am with the staff in East Grand Rapids. Do not hesitate to enroll your child, but if you are still concerned, I am confident that your mind will be put at ease if you just talk to anyone on Aberdeen's staff.
