The school is missing a lot of programs offered by others in the area. It has the basics, but if you want to learn anything other than nursing or english you will be unprepared.

Grosse Ile High School is decent as far as public schools go, but it definitely does not qualify as a 'great school.' I guess it really depends on how high one's standards are, but no one from my graduating class (2006) went to an Ivy League University. The school does not have very high expectations.

GI High is a very sport involved school. Teachers need to call parents sooner, regarding tests scores. Band and School Theater are good programs. The Nursing program was excellent. The college bound counseling needs to be very improved, with parent communication. about on

We are new to this school district, but we have been very impressed with my children's experience here. In the highschool we are pleased that teachers respond to our concerns with respect. They are also available in a timely manner. Band has been a great experience for our children and the general accedemics have been excellent.

For the most part the Grosse Ile School System is tremendous. Once your child gets into high school, it can be an entirely different story depending on the teacher they receive for that subject. Most of the teachers we encountered would not pick up the phone if your child was struggling or failing a subject where notification was sent out maybe a day or two shy of report card markings. Some teachers definitely play favortism and some need to brush the dust off their lesson plans and update them. The band program is awesome.

I was raised in Grosse Ile and graduated in 1993. The only complaint I have about GI is the lack of diversity. It does not compare to the real world.

I believe that attending Grosse Ile Schools (elementary thru graduation) greatly improved my chances of future success. The teachers truly care about the advancement of the students and everyone is treated equally. Students are not favored based on parents' financial contributions or community popularity. The District's push for higher learning and social development raises the bar for all public schools in Michigan.

I have been particularly impressed by the respect the students have with their administrators! The teachers appear to genuinely care about each student as an individual. I have been impressed by their credentials and the ongoing professional development! I have had 2 daughters in sports at the high school. Every student is encouraged to get involved in after school activities. They have been encouraged to become well rounded individuals who will succeed in the outside world. I greatly respect Grosse Ile Schools for their commitment to their students' growth and development!

This school has earned the reputation for playing politics. If you have the right address or your child is athletic star, they be taken care of & will get away with behavior others would be punished for. Teachers & coaches play mind games & favoritism to a degree that is extremely unprofessional. Your child will not receive the education you might expect from this school. It will become very clear once they go college.
