Meridian is a terrific school. MEAP scores average in the low to mid 90's. They offer a global Language Program, AP Learning classes in Language Arts and Math. One of the safest places to live in Michigan. My daughter is ANXIOUS to RETURN to school next week. What more could a parent ask for?
I reviewed this school two years ago. We were FORCED to leave the school because the Principal and the teacher could NOT handle a simple case of Aspergers. We moved after each day my son came home from school both of us were in tears. This was the WORST educational institution that I have encountered. Once we left and went to another school out of the district, my son has ALL A's and one B. He is accepted by peers, and is getting simple assistance with his HIGH level Aspergers. He reads at a grade level ABOVE his current grade, is in the top 90% of the country for math and spelling and socially well balanced. Why couldn't Meridian handle it? There solution send the kids to another district across the river. I give this school an E and still contemplating legal action.
I actually went to said school when I was younger. I have ADHD, and was having trouble in class. The administrator's and teacher's solution was to kick me out because they didn't want to deal with it. Thankfully my father is an attorney and reminded them that the American Disabilities Act prevents them from kicking me out. Despite their reluctance I was allowed to continue to attend school there. To be clear, the teachers are nice, but that doesn't always mean they care.
Grand nephew goes there and it's and excellent school with superb and caring teachers.
one of the few A+ schools around. Comunity involvement is unmatched.
This is our second year at GI Schools - we moved from another school district. My kids had a warm welcome to Meridian. Dr. Sanford is a wonderful principal and the teachers have all been kind and caring. Their concern for the childrens' educations are top notch! Exactly what we were looking for in a school. We are thrilled to be at Meridian!
I have been pleased with my son's education so far at Meridian. He is in kindergarten and his teacher, Mrs. Pilkington, has helped him to improve in all areas. I would recommend Meridian Elementary to anyone! Check out their website, www.gischools,org and see for yourself!
