I appreciate the hard work most of the teachers put into the students and my son has done quite well here grade wise. Its some of the staff that has made me lower my rating. The office staff arent really friendly and Ive butted heads with one young teacher. The facilities are well kept and the education up to date but some of the staff and parents tend to make you feel a little uneasy

We moved our daughter to Hanover Horton High School from Columbia Schools. We made this choice because we were not happy with the negative environment at Columbia. Our daughter was not thrilled with the idea of moving to a new High School. She felt it would be difficult to make new friends and fit in but nothing could be further from the truth. Hanover Horton is such a positive environment and the other teenagers welcomed our daughter with open arms. There is a sense of family there and the other children build each other up rather then the usual bullying that goes on with teenagers. They embrace athletics as well as the arts and our daughter has strived in both. The academics are very challenging and the classes they offer allow the students to experience unique opportunities. The schools are newly renovated to ensure additional safety. The school is clean and well kept - with art and student projects throughout the halls. We highly recommend Hanover Horton schools. Our daughter loves going to school and that in itself speaks volumes!!!

I absolutely love this high school! The academic programs and support from teachers is amazing. My daughter will be well prepared for college after graduation. I am especially impressed with the engineering program. Without the opportunity to explore this program in high school, she may not have even thought of engineering as a career, but now plans to major in this field. The leadership of Dan Draper is excellent. He truly cares about each student and it shows that their success is his top priority. I have never once had to remind him who my daughter was or introduce myself, he takes it upon himself to know all of the students and families in his school. Additionally, the community support from businesses and families is second to none. Add that to the success of our athletic and music programs along with numerous club opportunities for all students and you just cannot go wrong with Hanover Horton Schools. I would never consider another school for my children!

Love this school! As a graduate of H-H (class of 2001), my high school experience was great! Teachers and administrative staff were supportive and looked out for our best interests, sports and other organizations were fun and fair, and the overall atmosphere was positive. I would highly reccomend H-H for any student looking to excel and be part of a close knit community.

My husband travels to different high schools around the state, many of which are much larger and have more resources than H-H. He has commented that Hanover-Horton is one of the better high schools that he has seen. The facilities are excellent, the teachers are well-educated and effective, and the administration exhibits strong and community minded leadership. The school is very well-run both fiscally and with regard to personnel. We have been blessed with great teachers, a great principal and an excellent superintendent. This is truly a community-oriented school, and is well supported by parents as well as other community members.

Hanover Horton rocks! To me a great school is more than just academic achievement.... It is a community that works toward a common goal of developing great citizens with great character and a great sense of citizenship . The parents, teachers, administrators, school board and all the support staff work hard to achieve that but do so as a family . I love Hanover Horton and for our 4 kids there is no place better!!!!! The Comets are second to none!

Great school, it is just too bad the district can't continue to support after school programs like Night Lights.

I give the school a rating four because I am a graduate of 2006-2007 and I went to Hanover for 14 years and I hated it sometimes but most of the time I was there I liked it so it all worked out good because i'm graduated and trying to continue my education to study some type of medicine at the Jackson Community College.

This High School is AWESOME! The staff from the Superintendent right down to the Maintenance Crew CARE about their students! By far the school is superior both academically as well as athletically. Exceptional school spirit, wonderful learning environment, fantastic student body. Most schools have 'clicks' but at H-HH you will find all grade levels interacting with respect, compassion, and integrity. Just an overall wonderful experience for everyone. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Our daughters entered second semester their 10th and 7th grade years as school of choice transfers and were immediately accepted. Both have experienced positive lifetime memories. Thank you Hanover-Horton High School, as a parent your daily effort is appreciated!!!!

I have been pleased with what this small town school has to offer its students and families. There is a real sense of the school(s) being the center of the community.

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.
