Shay Elementary is an outstanding school. The teachers are highly qualified to teach, using a family atmosphere and highly academic curriculum. My daughter feels loved and cared for, while knowing she can trust the staff and community. The academics are challenging and meet the NCLB guidelines for achievement. The administrators, staff and parents have worked hard to create an atmosphere that is academically challenging and safe for all students. A 10 out of 10 in my book! The school provides Spanish, Music, Art, Gym beginning at Blackbird, grades K-2, which continues throughout the school life of the student.
Both of my children attended Shay Elementary. It is by far one of the best elementary (grades 3-5) in our area. The teachers are outstanding and provide a family atmosphere in the classrooms. The teachers my sons had were very caring and aware of each of their learning styles. My youngest was in the multi-age classroom for all three years and it was an incredible experience. Both boys were very well prepared for middle school.
