To still be a fairly new school, it is moving at an awesome rate and with the proper guidance it will continue to succeed.

I haven't even been there for a long time and its terrible. The school is very ghetto , bland, and out of order! The elementary has everything like a library, bigger building, decor. Like what middle school or high school doesn't have a library. A new principal came and he changed up things a lot. He made this homework thing that you get homework from every class and if you don't do it you get detention. How can they build all this work and pressure on us and expect us not to turn in an assignment, its to much! There is favoritism towards the loud and obnoxious students, they rarely get yelled at. It's also very unorganized. I do not recommend!

My son got kicked out of the school because of his grades. They say he needed tutoring I had him going to tutoring after school for a whole semester and his grades did not improve. Tutoring in their eyes is sitting the kids in a classroom after school for an hour and making them do homework that they dont understand.

My child has been with CPA for 6 years. The elementary school was go od. But since the school has gotten bigger, the schools leadership and academics have gone down. I agree with the previous parent. The middle school principal is very immature and only gives the appearance of being a good educator. And sadly his poor behavior is mimiced by many of the teachers. Very disappointed I thought my child would graduate from this school but I'm looking for another one. The middle school is getting out of control and I no longer see this school as being any different than a DPS school.

better luches should be given to all three school and during 6th hour thier should be a snack given to the students. like last year they gave out fruit everyday and my daughter would come home say how she dont want to leave the school, only thing is that they ask for too much like no earing, no boots, no gym shoes, and no bookbag should be carried during school...

I am a student at Chandler Park Academy and i believe that CPA is an average school. It has its ups and downs and although they need to improve things, it is definately not one of the worst.

I was a former student of CPA for five years and those were great times. But every since I moved, all I have heard was chandler park was a bad school. Chandler Park is a great school to send your children to.A lot had changed since I left. I miss all my friends there and I wish nothing but the best for them.

This is my 5th year having children in both the Elemntary & MiddIe/High buildings. I have three children one who graduated from CPA. The elementary building is still going well, the principal is great with any concerns you may have. The teachers are great there too. Now the Mid/High building has a new male principal who is not good with communicating or solving problems respectfully with the parents. Mid/High also have challenges this year with office administration with the exception of Mrs. McKee she's a delight to encounter. The new principal is not a people person and this attitude is slowly trickling down to some of the staff of teachers that have been there before he started this year. It's effecting the students and parents. With this new principal I would NOT recommend the Middle/High building.

I am a teacher at Chandler Park Academy and I am so proud to work there. We have strong discipline, a beautiful clean building, foreign language classes, Academic Games, Student Council, Track, etc. There is so much offered at this school and I know for a fact the teachers really work hard and truly care about the children. There is a waiting list to get in, so I know a lot of parents are happy with the education their children are receiving.

I am a student at chandler park academy and i have attended this school for five years and to me this school has greatly progressed over time. Many students and many times parents don't appreciate the discipline at this school. Many students that attended chandler park talk down on the school because many of them come from a school with little or no discipline. i am very proud of this school they have many extra curricular activities and i am very involved in them

Im a student at Chandler Park. I have been for 4 years. Honestly I think this school is bad. I went through alot at this school and alot with the teachers. I know you suppose to give adults respect but here they don't give you any. Some do but not all. One teacher got me in trouble because he was talking about me and when I said something back I got in trouble about him. There's alot of favoritism involved with this school(trust me, i was shown favortism by some teachers).I think thats unfair to all students. Then the fact that were put in there with middle school and oh yea, its a HIGH SCHOOL now too. We're not even marked on here as one. i got suspened about some socks!!! And the teacher got all in my face. i wouldnt recommend that U send your kids here. Itz horrible.

My daughter has been attending Chandler Park Academy for three years now and her time there has been a challenge. The principal and most of the teachers never gave up on her. In my opinion, the fact that all the students were in the same grade made a difference. The staff (especially the principal)@ Chandler Park care about the students and their education. Oh, let's not forget that they actually care about their safety too (Thank you). DPS could really learn something from this school.

My daughter attends Chandler Park Academy (Haverhill) for the 8th grade she's been attending this school since the 6th grade when it was on (philip)She has learned so much in this school. This school teaches their students what they need to learn. The teachers and the principal are very respectfull and understanding to all parents and visitors that walk through there doors. The teachers open there hearts to these student's and talk with them. When the student need somebody to talk to,if you didn't know the teacher's are who they talk to and I love them for that.I raise my hat to these teacher's.This is a good school academicly. So please dont have any doubt about this school you'll love it to.My daughter also played on the basketball team,I was there for every home game they had cheering on the LADY EAGLES,my daughter may not have played every game but she did play.

This 'school system' is probably the worst one in the state of Michigan. If you love your child, send them elsewhere.

I am a former student at Chandler Park Academy. After reading several reviews and opinions, I feel as if people are putting this school down.I find absolutely nothing wrong with my school.Teachers don't distribute out books because we learn everything in school and our teachers take their time trying to fully explain the lessons that they teach. The teachers and staff are very polite and generous to parents and visitors. Instead of getting expelled from school for every little fault we make, we get put on 'probation' for 25 days.Probation is to help discipline our behavior and help us keep in mind that we never know when we are going to have important visitors.I love Chandler Park Academy and wish it was k-12.

I am a former student of chandler park academy. I was a student in the first graduating class, and i can't understand why there is so many bad ratings when it comes to this school. This school taught me so much and i appreciate all of the teachers, staff and faculty. If i had children i would definitely send them to this school, because it teaches values and has a great education system. I also love how you can go to school and learn the fundamental things in life, as well as learn about christ. I gurantee if you send your child(ren) to this school it will be the best decision you have ever made. Sincerely nia cook

Financially and functionally, the school IS in a sad situation -- no books for the kids, often no access to a working copy machine, parents who demand high grades for kids who are not performing academically, students who are not held accountable for hostility & behavior issues. Students are given homework but the majority throw papers away or do not record assignments in agendas so they are off the hook. These kids deserve a chance at a quality education, if not for the politics of the mgmt co. and staff ladder-climbers. Teachers should be allowed to teach, and not be at the mercy of tale-tellers at all levels. Chandler Park needs to decide if they are in the education business, or the warm, fuzzy business, because in the end the kids are the ones to suffer when they still have not mastered basic skills after so many years.

Chandler Park Academy is run off of greed. The high authority focuses so much on student count for funding that they do not see the big picture. They receive so much money for each student in attendance and yet the students do not have books to take home, no paper, no pens, and no pencils are supplyed to them. The building is too small. My son has told me that his teacher does not even have a classroom. She moves her classes to wherever there is space. The state should really audit this school.

Send your child to any Chandler Park Academy school, and you ought to be required to prove your sanity. The BEST school in the CPA 'family' gets a C on the State of Michigan's report card. I think people are fooled all too often by the fact that these schools pop up all over the place and have new buildings and fresh paint on the walls. Well that would be the outside, the asthetics, but what's going on on the inside is atrocious. The children are not challenged and I doubt that they would be ready for an educational challenge if presented with one. Please do your research on these schools before you subject your precious children to a substandard education.

This school is not getting any better. The new principal is a little tougher but the same bad kids that were there last year are here this year. The office staff are mean and disrespectful to parents and other visitors. The parents do not participate in pto meetings or open house. This school needs to close down or start testing the students who apply. The students make the school look bad.

My child has been a student since 6th grade she is in 8th now.CPA has a big turn over with teachers and principals, the kids cant't take home books and some of the teachers act like friends instead of teachers.I really didn't like the fact they said it would be a girl's basketball team in 04, the girls went to practice on saturdays and worked hard they had a practice game against Merit and won.The coach decided he wanted to coach boys instead so the girls team was over,'which it never began'.They need to really get there stuff together,at this point I am really ready to take her 'out' they need to get there act together quick and teach these kids and give out homework basically do their job. Also get some structure in the school, also stick with the no tolorate rule and get those bad apples out so our kids can learn.

This is my first year here at Chandler Park Academy Haverhill and I must say it has been a challenge! I am in the computer lab educating students, parents and faculty. The teachers are the best teachers this side of Heaven. They care not only about the edcuation but they care about what goes on after school too! Send your children to Chandler Park Academy Haverhill and be involved!

I have children in the Chandler Park Academy District and I am quite pleased with the overall climate of the school. The teachers are well versed in educating our students. There are many opportunities for students and parents to strengthen themselves socially as well as academically. While parent involvement could be better, those of us who are involved are quite satisfied and pleased to be a part of the CPA family. I find Administration actively involved in further developing the teachers. I've been in many school districts and have yet to find one with the care CPA has for each teachers futures. Every school has its problems but CPA is striving to make our schools and kids competitive with other schools in the state. Keep up the good work, you have my vote.

This has to be the worst school in Detroit! The teachers seem to care but the Administration and facilities are awful. Teacher turnover is about 50% and the children have no books to take home for homework, but the staff can take overnight (all expenses paid) trips to Lansing and Flint for 'professional development'. They have not made A.Y.P (Annual Yearly Progress as proposed by the No Child Left Behind law) for the past three years. I work here to receive a check, but as a secretary I have no role in instruction. Don't send your child here if you love them!

Chandler Park Academy Haverhill has been a great disappointment for my child and I. My child rarely receive homework, the work that she does in class can be done by a third or fourth grader. Chandler Park Academy-Haverhill should be closed down because the teachers are not showing enough support toward the students. The school have been on the failing list for three consecutive years. This is do to the lack of professionalism an ability to teach the students what they need to know in order to past the meap test. I would not recommend this school to any parent that I know. Chandler Park Academy receives two thumbs down.
