East K-7 has had to adapt to many changes due to funding . East K-7 became the initiative and 'role model' for the rest of the district. They were the first to adopt the K-8 format and it was proven so successful that the rest of the district decided it was best to follow suit. East uses a family atmosphere idea in that they encompass the idea of engaging the older children, being the 6th and 7th grades, in a leadership role for the younger students. This allows for the older kids and the younger kids and all of those in between to continue to be involved and valued as a family member within our school.

(It is now a K-7 school.) Dedicated staff, differentiated learning, great programming from technology to gifted and talented to after school clubs. Creativity abounds in this school. Students are challenged, taught by dedicated teachers and love coming to school.

This is the best school that my kids have ever attended. We love the staff, the principal and all of the richness and diversity of programming: art, music, physical education, spanish, gifted and talented, technology, and reading. The staff goes above and beyond to meet with parents, collaborate with them and have them in the school and classrooms to help. From podcasts to plays to school-wide families, and so much more, East K-8 offers a unique experience. Parental involvement is excellent, from our great PTO to the many volunteers. The halls are filled with kid's work and beautiful photography. The 2 computer labs and the incredible media center are great areas within the school too! It is truly the model for great public schools.
