My daughter was new to MacNaughton and at first did have a hard time adjusting. Reading is an issue but, they are really working hard to make myself and my child happy with her education. I do believe that education starts at home but, also that teachers are human and need to communicate a little better with the parents. MacNaughton is doing a good job and well on their way to doing a great job!

My daughter is in Kindergarten there. I am not pleased by their process of choosing what kids are ready for young fives or who should go on to kindergarten. My daughter has been in speech class there since preschool and I have not seen much improvement. Plus the busing is horrible.

MacNaughton Elementary is concerned about every student from preschool through third grade! There are children who have a difficult time with learning to read at MacNaughton, but there are children in every school district including nearby Blue Ribbon schools who have parents complaining that their child is not reading even close to grade level, too. To all of them I say, parents are the first teachers of all children. Parents need to be involved, talk and read with their with their children from the time they are born and then stay involved with their child's education and work with the teacher and work with their child at home on getting what that individual child needs. Good things are happening at MacNaughton! Get involved and stay involved and expect your child to work hard and to succeed!

Hate it. Never seen a more backwards school in my entire life. Old fashioned beliefs with their own twists to make their beliefs right. Beware the art teacher.

My daughter recently started first grade at MacNaughton. Coming from a different school part way through the school year I was concerned that she may have a hard time adjusting. Quite the contrary, everyone is so great from the office staff to the teaches. My daughter was welcomed with open arms and is doing great! I was a little concerned after reading the other review about kids not being able to read, but my daughter has advanced very well in her reading and has no problem reading lengthy words/books by herself.

I am now a grand parent. My daughter went to school at MacNaughton and finished at the new high school. I have a son who graduated there also. I think the school system is great but I've seen more and more problems with kids getting into high school and still can't read. I don't understand how they slip through that far without even one teacher catching that. I have a grand daughter in 3rd grade now and she loves it. I do like the teachers my children and grand child have had so far. It's a wonderful, friendly school and except for the reading problem, I think it's one of the best schools out there. I am proud that my children went to Tri-County.
