As an ICHS alumni, who is currently attending MSU, I have come to find many disadvantages our school has to offer. First being the absolutely preposterous attendance policy in place. Under said policy student's grade's in individual classes are affected by absent days drastically, however I cannot go into detail, due to the limitations in the # of character's I can use, but believe me it's messed up. Also having come to MSU, I was totally unprepared in mathematics, due to very poor instructors, with the exception of the young, new algebra/Calc teacher, he has a sincere passion to teach young people, a quality much of the staff at ICHS lacks significantly,

As a parent and alumni of ICHS, I find the tradition of excellence that was there when I was a student continues. My daughter graduated ready to go in College.

Having two 'children' in ICHS I have to say that I don't find that there is a consistant level of expertise in the personnel nor in the teaching methods used at this school. This results in wasted resources in lost teaching opportunities. The desire to learn is one of the most important lessons to be learned, and unfortunately this is not always focused upon by a few inadequate teachers. Sports and social activities should also be rounded out with more community involvement projects that could change our town's students into more responsible young adults who are prepared for the various challenges the 'real world' offers.

Imlay- in comparison to surrounding schools has a wonderful teaching staff, great extra curriculars as well as a hard working board of education. Being a former graduate, I would recommend Imlay City High School to any parent in the Lapeer County Area. It has the perfect amount of discipline mixed with reward.

Imlay City high school is the great school because the kids will learn in that school. It's a great school and always will be.
