My two kids attended Kinder and 1st Grade in Meek Milton. They were international transferees to a predominantly black student population. I admit that I was daunted at first, but over next few months I realized that my fears were misplaced. Their teachers and principal were just wonderful. They kept communication lines open and encouraged my children to learn and excel. The school had many programs that benefitted lower-income students. Of course there were kids that could be violent or out of control, but I think there was no one that the teachers could not handle. We met with the teachers frequently, and they wish that more parents would get involved in their children's education like us. My kids stayed in the school only for one year because we had to go back to our home country, but we all cherish the one year that they spent in this school. Very good experience.
I have a six year daughter attending this school, and I am vey pleased with direction that Meek is taking with her education. I would give this school a 10.
Meek-Milton is an excellent school, with great teachers who welcome parents in the classroom. Principal Mrs. Moss is personally envolved and knows her students by name.
