Lake Ann Elementary School (LAES) is an exceptional school for the area. Moving here from Fairfax County VA where the schools have some of the highest scoring students in the nation I was surprised with the lower expectations people in this area have for their schools. When teachers try to set high standards it s difficult to bring students up to those standards without community support, but LAES seems to be succeeding. Their faculty set high standards with a positive enthusiasm that seems to motivate the students and most parents as well. I m very pleased with the progress my 3 children (1st, 3rd, and 5th grades) have made this year.
We moved to Lake Ann last year and I've been very impressed with this school. Previously my daughter went to the Grand Traverse Academy. The cirriculm is very challenging and our teacher takes a lot of time to stay in touch.
The staff at our school has been wonderful in helping my children become comfortable in the school. They also have helped identify learning situations important for my children. The teachers are all creative and energetic; they are also very involved in the school community.
