I graduated from ionia High School. The education there was great. They offer extra education by providing Heartlands which students can take to learn a skill such as Cooking, Health and Dental, Mechanics Child Care, robotics, drafting and many more. Plus because they also have Montcalm Comunity college right there Students that qualify can take advanced classes and get college credits while there. There is also alot of poor parent involvement not due to the school. I have been to other schools And the quality of educati0on here Is what you make of it you can take easy courses or hard ones they teach you to make your own path. As for extracurricular acitivities They have many more than you would find offered in larger cities such as Grand rapids. We dont have to share our school funding with as many other schools in Ionia County as they do In Kent County. Since graduating I have had to request records from them for various things for college and they have always cheerfully complied. There are not so many students there that you get lost in the shuffle. Over all this is a great school. It is your education and it is what YOU make of it!

Heyy i am a former student at ionia high school. I beleive that the people whom are rating this school are being extremly unfair. Ionia high school has a huge varity of things to do,the teachers want you to pass and will work one on one with you if you are struggling. I am currently a student winfield high school in west virgnia, and i am planning on going back to ionia this upcoming year. Ionia high has a wide brand of attentive teachers, academic classes, and sports to get involved in. The football field is huge and the coaches are amazing. Kids get crazy during the games and spirit week. Homecoming and prom are the biggest dances and people go all out for them. Including the teachers. I am very proud to be an ionia bull dawg!!!! go dawgs!!

I moved from a big high school and started my junior year at Ionia. I had all A's and B's when I attended my previous high school. When I moved to Ionia my grades quickly dropped and I actually failed my junior year. The teachers did not seem to care whether you were keeping up or not, and there was no one-on-one attention at all. Some of the materials I learned I had learned in 8th grade at my old school, and some of it was brand new...it was all over the map. The quality of the extracurricular activities was very poor. Ionia High School definitely does not prepare you for life in the real world or college. I felt very lost, even after completing an extra half-year due to poor education.

I am a current Ionia High school student. I transferred here my sophomore year, and I am currently a junior. Since I have transferred, I have been doing alot better in my classes; I have even started taking honors classes, something I would have never achieved at my previous school. I am alot more cofident in the fact that I am going to college, and I realize the importance of it. My experience at Ionia has been great.

I am a former Ionia High school member and I dissagree with the statement before mine. I think that this is a great place to educate and prepare you for every day life events. Either growing life long friendships or those high school memories that we all look back on. The thing is I have only been out of this school for 3 years. So basicly I still am a student but regret the chance to go till my senior year and graduated with my 2004 class.

I am a former student from Ionia High School. I attened Ioina for three years and then moved to Tennessee for my finall year of high school. When i attened Ionia I didn't think it was too bad, but then when i moved on to SCHS I realized how much Ionia deprives the kids from great teachers and actiivites. The were some great teacher at Ionia like Mrs. Antonites and Mr. Carnes but the better magority of them just simply do not care. When I moved i had a 2.6 GPA by the time I graduated from SCHS i had a 3.75. I was more involved and active in school in Tennessee then ever. I also had a school counsler whom told me I would not make it into college. I am in College full time and have a full time job and am doing well! Good Luck Ionia!
