Look, I'm a current junior at East Jackson High School, and have been going to this school system since kindergarden. Yes, I will agree that some of the teachers here aren't the greatest, but that doesn't mean that this school is not a great learning faciltiy. Parents like to rant and rave about this school because they don't always get what they want when it comes to the educational system. As a student, you expect the teachers to reach out to you and automatically know when you need help. The truth is, student's also need to reach out for the teacher and admit that they need help. The faculty has always been there for me when I needed and accepted help with my work. I can't imagine another place for your kid to go.

as a senior at East Jackson High School I say about 6 or more of the teachers that are there are good Teachers. The faculty is pretty nice... but some of them just don't care.

I am a graduate of East Jackson High School. I believe that the faculty and staff of this school pushed me beyond my limits and prepared me for college. Most of the teachers were caring, professional educators who demonstrated empathy and discipline in an even balance. I believe that my experience at East Jackson High School inspired me to become a college graduate. I believe that if I hadn't attended EJHS I would not have chosen the path of higher education.

As a parent of a recent graduate (07') and also of a up and coming junior I have seen many changes. I have noticed that some of the students that have been coming from the inner city school have had problems. I have also noticed that they do not stay long, for they are dealt with. I believe that being in a different environment can help a student with problems. As far as them being labeled as 'school of choice kids', my children are school of choice and have been for several years, since my junior was in 1st grade. I am a graduate of the inner city school and I would not send my child there, no matter what. EJHS is a great alternative in my book. If those who think that it is not go visit the other schools, and by the way be prepared...

I wouldn't recommend EJHS to anyone. As far as class C schools go, they have been an okay school in the past. As of the last couple years though they have been all about the money, and are letting in every school of choice kid that comes along. Problem being that most of these school of choice kids had problems at their previous school, and are now entering our school along with their 'baggage'. My child is in 11th grade and I've seen so many changes.....not good ones. The administration needs to be cleaned up along with a few teachers that never should have entered the teaching field in the first place. I'm certainly glad we'll be out of this school system after next year....wouldn't recommend it to anyone with younger children. I'm guessing that within a couple years you'll think you're at an inner-city school.
