WONDERFUL! I go to this school and i must say it is a great school and i have a favorite teacher his name is Mr. Perry he is a team 7/8 social studies teacher and he actualy teaches us and trys th explain what he is telling us unlike the other teachers who give us books and say do these pages.
We have had a fabulous two years at Milwood Magnet School. The teachers are caring, knowledgeable and always there to help. The internet site for checking grades (Pinnacle) as complained about in a previous post is a tool to allow the parent to check on grades and attendance. If used as a tool it works but sometimes we forget that the responsibility still lies with our children to get their homework done and turned in, if not we turn to things like Pinnacle to assist us in assisting them. I think there is sometimes too much emphasis put on enabling kids to not take responsibility for their own actions and I know that my daughter has become much more responsible with her schoolwork since being at Milwood. We can't really say enough good about the school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A good school with a bio-technology focus. Science and math are also emphasized. Many elective classes to choose from for a diverse offering
As a parent, I am very disappointed with this school. My son is now attending his second year there. I think the 'parent' internet viewer is a great thing.....when it is working, or even better yet, when the teachers update it. Numerous times, I have gone on and there is anything listed. If I have concerns, the only time I am contacted is when I email the teacher. I thought that this is one of the reasons a person decides to be a teacher--to help children learn. There needs to be a little more involvement here.
While Milwood Magnet has had a negative reputation, it has proven a rumor as my child received a wonderful education from very caring teachers the last two years. I would recommend Milwood to any parent who wants their child to have a chance to use the newest technology while being challenged to grow and mature
