My son has had a great experience at Roosevelt. The teachers are caring, the whole office staff is great, and when there was a concern I as able to get it handled quickly by the new principal. The district has had a lot of challenges, but Roosevelt has maintained a warm atmosphere. I would recommend Roosevelt!
I think that Roosevelt Elementry School deserves a 1 star rating. My grandson attends there and is bullied all the time. I don't know if he is to intelligent for the other kids or they are to ignorant. The principaljust recieved her doctors degree this past summer. She walks around like she is the cream of the crop. Bet me buckwheat! The police are at the school fairly regularly. That tells you something. The entire school district is about the same as Roosevelt. They prefer to punish the victim and not the perpatrator. When Dr. Gretchko was Superintendant it was a good school dristrict. After he retired, it really went down hill and is still going down. The present administration does not know how to handle money except for being over paid.
Personally I would not send my child to school here if it were the last school on earth. The new principal this year is very arrogant towards any parent who has concerns about the safety of their child. The bullying at this school is so bad, when the child being bullied complains or their parents do than this child will be punished to the fullest extent. I'm not just talking about name calling either, these problems go far beyond what I would consider teasing, stolen property, eye glasses broken twice and teacher that laugh at a student when reporting a problem. In years past I would have given this school a 5 star rating with the teachers and administration, not now!
The Magnet (gifted) program is wonderful! The staff goes above and beyond to work with a challenging group of children. The staff and principal are nothing short of wonderful. Thrilled to have our son at Roosevelt.
Roosevelt has been a wonderful experience for my children. The principal is always visible and involved in school activities and daily functions and the staff is always friendly and professional. The teachers have been very attentive, caring and supportive. Roosevelt is a great school which offers a competitive curriculum, a diverse student population and plenty of extra curricular activities for the children.
I had my daughter at this school for most of her elementary years and I really like this school. The teachers, principal, and even the secretaries all made me feel very welcome and made my daughter feel very comfortable at school. I was sad to leave this school district and always find myself comparing other schools to Roosevelt. I have a son who is just now in Kindergarten and wish he could attend this school but we are now out of state. I would recommend this school to anyone...
The teachers are awesome!! The principal is very approachable and visible. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Roosevelt. I would highly recommend this school to any parent.
Great School. I loved how it treats children and makes parents feel welcomed.
