Absoluetly love LMA! I have not had any issues that previous posts have had. In fact, I think the communication is amazing! I love that I can email my son's teacher for a question without disrupting the class or taking up their time for something non-important. My son has special needs and I was very worried about how he would adjust to being away all day. Not only did they whole heartedly accept me coming to the school everyday at lunch to help (and honestly, check up on him) but they loved and helped him just as much as I do. This year, he has been given more "independence" and I no longer feel the need to "monitor." Academically, despite being "special needs" my son is actually advanced for his age and the staff still find ways to keep him challenged. I have no worries or hesitations about sending my daughter there next year. As for the change in administration... we don't know what it was like before, therefore I can only judge on the current. Highly recommend Landmark!

This school has become something that I have a really hard time with. They employ people to teach the children that may or may not even have a teaching degree. They hide behine a "coaching staff" to their teachers. There's a reason the state of Michigan has teaching certification. It's too bad that classroom teacher assistants end up actually teaching the students. It's been going downhill the past two years since the leadership staff has changed. Saginaw Valley State should be held accountable for allowing some of these things to go on while this school is under their charter! My recommendation. Don't send your kids to Landmark Academy....not if you want teachers and staff that truly care and are qualified to teach. Yes, there are some that do, but the majority? Sorry....it's just the reality of where the school is today. I would have selected 0 stars if I could've.

Until a few years ago, I was satisfied with this school. Since then, there has been an administration change and things have gone in a direction that no longer works for me. We started at the school in great part due to its focus on academics, but we no longer find that to be the case. Expectations for students are far, far too low. Some focus is on the needs of individual students, yes, but it goes too far in many cases and is a detriment to the education of the class as a whole. They are not providing the stability and direction that children need in a learning environment, in my opinion. I have therefore removed my children from the school, after many years invested. Landmark may work very well for some families, but when considering a charter, know that you have no control over what direction they may take.

I completely disagree with the latest review on behalf of Landmark Academy. My children have gone to Landmark since kindergarten and have we have never had communication issues and my children have never been given an A just for turning an assignment in. I have a child in the elementary building and a child in middle school. I have had great communication with both of their teachers and feel that the last parent that posted the review is incorrect or just a disgruntled parent. I also would like to state that my children have been able to read since kindergarten and have scored above and beyond on the DRA levels every year, usually at least a grade of what the range is supposed to be. But we are all entitled to our own opinions!

Both my children attend Landmark Academy and up until now I have been very satisfied with the school. Any time you have a problem no one is ever availible and when you email them they never respond. The school has the lowest meap scores in the whole district every year. (as the scores are published in the newspaper) My child is in first grade and still has yet to be able to read. And my other child in the middle school is givin an A for every assignment turned in just for doing it no matter what she has wrong. I am very disappointed in this school since the principal just up and left it has went to the dogs and they should be ashamed of themselves. All there experiments with different things is costing our children their education I dont recommend this school and will be moving my children asap

Landmark is a school that centers itself around the needs of children. The staff cares for every child and does their best to help students succeed. The Middle School teachers are amazing. They really know how to care and tend to the middle school age children.

We enrolled our daughter into landmark academy her kindergarten year. We were excited to attend this school because we liked the text books that the school used as well as the dress code they had. Our child is a good student and therefore felt that she would get the sort of attention she needed in order to spread her horizons. We loved the teachers at the school that we personally had to deal with, and the office staff were very pleasant and cheerful! However, we were not impressed with the administration. If a parent has an issue that needs to be dealt with and the administration doesn't help you solve it then you really have nobody else to go to for answers so you are stuck with there decisions. In the public schools you always have someone higher to go to in order to help solve your concerns!

I've attended here for quite a while, and I love it. The staff cares about you much more here than at public schools, and it is a much better learning environment. The buildings are up-to-date, and it has great technology integration. The only thing they are slightly lacking in is sports, but that is made up for with the great acedemics. Overall this is a great school!
