I just wish there were more than one teacher willing tutoring. My son needs more help, or even outside people willing to tutor.

We have found this school system to be outstanding! We moved from Grosse Pointe, MI and were very concerned about finding the same level of quality and commitment to education. The students consistently out rank their peers in the rest of the district, state and nation according to standardized test results. Most of the teachers have Master's Degrees. My wife and I have also found the opportunities to partcipate in field trips, classroom activities and various school functions to be very rewarding and welcoming. If I had to ding them on anything it would be their facilities. The middle and elementary school buildings are older and well worn. The high school however is newer and modern. This is a great small town and it's the best kept secret.

This is a school that has set mediocrity as its standard. When we suggested at a parent-teacher conference that our son wasn't doing as well as he should be we were told that it isn't a teacher's job to inspire students. The teachers also told us that the standard is 60 percent and that if we wanted our son doing better than that it is our job as parents to see that he does better. Unfortunately, there seems to be resistance to any kind of parent involvement that doesn't simply support their views. We took our son out of the school and have now met other parents who have done the same. The elementary school, however, doesn't suffer from the same disinterest in education and the principal there is very good.
