I have been going to this school since preschool. I have learned so much. The teachers actually care and can spend one on one time with the students. The bigger schools nearby can't do that. The teachers of Lake Linden care greatly. The sports programs are wonderful. I am dissapointed to see that the school got a 5 out of 10. It deserves better.

I moved here from Augusta, GA at the beginning of the 03-04 school year and I was treated with nothing but respect. The high school teachers are nice and are so good that I stayed here rather than go to the larger Calumet High School. The english/history teacher is a mastermind and doesnt even need to use the book! The math teacher knows the work inside out, as do the science teachers! I didnt know the principal too well, but when I did need help with my classes and the like he was always on top of it. I loved this school mainly for the good education I got from it, which is alot with me coming from such a large school.

My daughter went to this school since Kindergarten, and she is now in 9th grade. This is the worst school in the state. Her books (Some years) are older than she is, by far, her teachers have anger problems and much, much more. The school is poor. They will place blame on whoever as long as they get money, then they go and waste it on a day of nothing. On 9/11 they watched Disney movies! This is the singe worst school I have ever seen, and if I have to I will single-handedly shut-it-down! Those children are practiccly tortured everyday! The substutes are downright abusive and the principal dosen't know what he is doing!

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Michigan used the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in math, reading and writing; in grades 5 and 8 in science; and in grades 6 and 9 in social studies. The MEAP is a standards-based test, which measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Michigan. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, the Michigan State Board of Education implemented new definitions of what it means to be proficient on the MEAP test. The new standards for proficiency are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.
