Our family loves West El and my kids have thrived at this school! It's a large school with over 500 students, but still has a personal, friendly feel. The teachers and staff are great and everyone looks out for everyone.

My kids were there only for two months and they still miss them all. I would say it is the best school they were ever at. Teachers quality and communication with parents is great! It is a pity we moved out of Lake Odessa.

All three of my children have attended West Elementary. I found the staff to be caring and accommodating to 'meet my child' where they were at in their learning styles. I especially appreciated the multi-age program. All three of my children have scored extremely well on the MEAP tests and are currently 'A' students in the middle school and high school. West El is a great place to learn!

This district as a whole has taken a very lax attitude about discipline. Instead of dealing with a disruptive student, they remove him or her from the classroom. This teaches no lesson other than that 'If I act up, I get to go home.' These types of students need the most attention. The teachers and staff seem to have the attitude that if we just focus on the 'good' students, and eliminate the 'problem' students, we are sure to get higher MEAP score averages. Hmm, and they wonder why enrollment has dropped in the past few years.
