You have a school in deep financial trouble, where past Administrators (and present) were inept, where the union is underperforming and has no sense of responsibility whining about cuts and pay while Michigan's U6 unemployment rate is 20%+, where the parents of these kids can't read and write themselves, where exceptions and performances are low. Where sports are more important than cerebral matter, Other than that, it has a nice view of the sunrise.

It's a nice school, but I sure would like the gym back during lunch.. I wish students would clean up there mess and not randomly hurt each other in the gym (throwing basketballs/goofing off). We only get gym on half days:(

I have 4 children that attend lakeview community schools...1 Senior, 2 juniors, and one 8th grader. I graduated from lakeview and i am not impressed with the school now. I didn't really think about it as a student, but as a parent this school really lacks initiative, enthusiaism, and teaching ability. I have a son that is adhd and the teachers don't really have an idea on how to handle those children.I feel that the sports programs are poorly managed. Tooo many clicks and politics. I feel very concerned about the future of the kids of lakeview. I don't feel like my children got the best education they could have if i would have taken them to another school...Sorry but true! hope things change and fast

As a former student i feel that lakeview high school is not a place i want to my childern to go. the school has a program for slower kids which is great but i believe they should have had a program for smarter kids and at least offered AP classes. the extracurricular activities are horrible, they need more qualified coaches and more options for the students. Lakeview schools are just lacking alot of things that they need to help prepare students for college and life outside of high school.

As a former student, I feel that this school is very far behind what it should be. I transfered here from another school, and ended up being taught stuff that I had been taught two years prior at my other school.

I just wanted to say I am a former student and I relly felt I got alot of help from this school. It made me better then the other schools I had been to and not the type of school just to pass someone one excellent resource room program as well. I dont know how I would have made where I am today without the help of 2 great teachers Mrs.Cady and Mrs.Bayne I am now a parent and step parent as well and if i sitll lived in the area I would definatly send my children here. Thanks for all the help to make me graduate.

As a former student and employee, I feel the overall teacher quality is poor. It's more political than what is best for the students. A lot of the teachers are 'out to get' their administrators and they don't consider what is right for the students. It's a 'me' school and not a student school. The board and administrators always pose that students come first, but it's not true. They like to hide a lot and it's very upsettig to the district and tax payers. Not enough people stand up for what they believe in. It will only take a few to stand up and voice opinions at board meetings. Show them your voice, let them know students come first!

As a former student I feel that this school is extremely poor when it comes to quality of education. Many students in recent years have been transfering to better schools in order to even have a shot at getting into a high quality university. With the exception of a few great teachers, the majority of the others treat their job as a social event with other staff where their interests are put way ahead of the interests of the students. Under no circumstances would I ever enroll my children in this school system. Due to knowing individuals within the school system I know that the quality of the education along with the athletics and other activities are steadily declining. This school system is a classic example of individuals thinking of themselves instead of the future of our children. Give your child a better future, don't send them to this school.

This school is outstanding from the quality faculty administration and support staff to the bus drivers, cafeteria staff and maintenance crew. This school, this community cares deeply and genuinely about their students and takes great pride in their academic achievements as well as their historically successful athletic prowess. Any student would be proud to call themselves a 'Lakeview Wildcat' and any parent would take comfort and pride in knowing their child is in very capable and caring hands.

I don't think very highly at all of this particular school district. I have four children who attend Lakeview schools. I don't think the teaching quality is consistent. With 2 sons in the same grade we have experienced good teachers and poor teachers for the exact same course. My husband is extremely disappointed with the sports program. I do not agree with where the district spends their money - priority wise. The new athletic field was obviously not budgeted properly, classes had to be dropped or eliminated last year. Children should be educated at school. I would much rather see a pay to play sports program, rather than cut back on educational opportunities for our children. After all, how many of them grow up to be professional sports pros versus successful working people of our community.
