I had 2 children at this school before we left for Colorado. My son said he will NEVER forget his 6th grade teacher Mr. German, he couldn't ask for a better, more fun learning time then he spent in his class. My daughter learned so much at that school. Shes still after 6 months of being gone shes still in contact with her teacher via e-mail. So I WE have nothing but GREAT things to say about this school...Thank You

Douglas Road Elementary is a wonderful school. The teachers truly love their jobs and care completely about the children. I love this school. If you are thinking about sending your children here, I would highly recommend it and for you to go in and take a tour of the place!!

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Michigan used the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in math, reading and writing; in grades 5 and 8 in science; and in grades 6 and 9 in social studies. The MEAP is a standards-based test, which measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Michigan. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, the Michigan State Board of Education implemented new definitions of what it means to be proficient on the MEAP test. The new standards for proficiency are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.
