This school has went way down hill lately. Look at the MEAP scores. The kids get there and do half way decent at MEAP tests. By the time they hit 5th grade they are doing horrible. Reo elementary is nearby. Reo 5th grade averages 75% on the MEAP. Wainwright is at 48%.. If you care about your kids send them anyplace else. This place is one of the worst in Lansing if not THE worst.

It is an great educational facility, but it would be... extraordinary if the kids were better maintained than the way they are. the staff around the school are always kind, and are always willing to help if a child is in need, the school it's self shouldn't have been given a low rating, because its not the teachers, or staff, its the way the kids act that hinder the opportunity for academic success of this fine education institution . As a former student at this school I've seen first hand what a little nurturing can do for the "out of control" children, but then again, you can't always blame the child, so some of this blame should, and must be placed on the parents of said child. There are many fine teachers at this school. -Cameron j. Fair

I love this school. The teachers are very nice as well as helpful. This school, has takin my very bright 7yr old and challenged her on every level. I recently moved here from down south and this educational structure is far better then where we came from. My child was bored to tears until we moved here and she was actually intellectually challenged to think on her own. This school with their new theme of Law and Leadership has taught my daughter how to be a good leader as well as understand the consequences of her action.

This school has made a lot of changes in the past two years. the theme of leadership has really improved the school. I see the students taking responsibility of what they do more often. My child loves all the people they get to meet and things they get to do. Adding the courtroom has made my son decide that he wants to be a judge.

I'm very disappointed at the overal quality of this school, principal, teachers and other staff. God forbid your child is a Special Needs child. This school does not know the first thing about these children, nor do they care. If a problem arises, you can be assured you will not be able to talk to the principal about it because she over talks you and you can't get a word in otherwise. Be very cautious of this school.

Changing this school to a acadamy was a joke. The level of teaching, disapline and overall atmasphere has plunged to record lows. After only six monthes my child as went from a happy A and B student to a sullen unhappy C and D one. Needless to say he will not be coming back. The students are unruley and the teachers do not concern themselfs with theur students trouble areas. Very dissapointing to say the least!
