I am a second year parent at this school. My child seems to have learned a lot even in this different setting. How ever I do agree with some post about the teachers communication skills with parents directly one molment then they tell you to talk to the assistance then when you refer back they don't know what you are talking about. I have major Issues directly dealing with the Concerns of how they deal with the students with Food allergies. Why is it so hard for them to understand Allergic and EpiPen means life or death. Yes it needs to be with them at all times. Please take the time to educate the staff and a bonus the students about the seriousness of Epipen.

I have a few complaints about chatfield first no bus. And there are few walls litterly they have curtins.our school has a promethin board. and they still have white boards and there gym is very small. This is kind of a poor school and one last thing at 8th grade you have to find a new school and fit in there and start all over. LakeVille Middle School is the school for me

I have 2 children who attend Chatfield. This school is incredible. The parents are highly involved. The teachers are allowed to be creative in their teaching which is unfortunately lacking more and more in the typical public schools. The directors care so greatly about the their school. Wonderful "whole child" learning at Chatfield. Nothing bad to say. Thank you Jack and Betty McCulley for a wonderful environment for my daughters to learn and grow in.

I am a teacher [not at Chatfield] whose son goes to Chatfield and I have been totally impressed by the quality of education that he has received there. I am from a whole family of educators and feel that everything about the school is exceptional compared to other schools that I have either worked at or are familiar with.

This school is unfailingly innnovative. The classroom structure includes working with small groups at various stations. The students phsically move throughout the day to areas that house specifi subject matter materials; therefore they can buy (for example) very high quality mathematical aides for the whole school to share, rather than cheaper, duplicate aids for each calssroom. They do a LOT of class work outdoors. They incorporate tactile & kinethetic learning methods. They are even incorporating alternative energy sources into the schools' infrastructure. I AM the ultimate over-protective parent; rarely is anything good enough for my darlings. But Chatfield is everything I could dream of in a school. I have to provide meals & snacks & trasportation but, it is more than worth it for my girls to get such an amazing school experience

All of my children have attended this school, and my experience thus far, has been dismall when it comes to administrative quality. However, even though most of the teachers instill leadership qualities in their students, parent/teacher communication needs to greatly improve. There is no communication between principal and parent. Rules are not enforced by the principal or administrative staff. If it were not for some of the outstanding teachers at Chatfield, this school would never be one I would reccomend to others.
