My children have attended Mayfield School for four years now. They have received an exceptional educational experience so far. The staff works collaboratively which brings the best ideas each teacher has to offer to the entire grade level. The principle is caring and involved. The Dead of Students is diplomatic and consistent. We could not be happier. The building itself could use some TLC, but the quality of education my children are receiving more than makes up for the building s condition.
My daughter had a rough time in the school she had been going to. When she came to Mayfield she was became a better student. I believe it was because of the teachers and other faculty there that have the ability to teach more then other schools.
I have grandchildren, and family, who have attended and still go to Mayfield.... The most important fact is the children are happy. They are very proud of their academic work, and their friendships with both classmates and teacher's are sincere.... The newest principle just seems as lovely as she can be... And the now retired Mr. Whitlock, previous principle is missed by all... That is my opinion. My grand-boys always commented on his presence and professionalism. By views based on direct contact, from afar, and other parent's that I have personally talked with. So enjoy the rest of 2008- 2009 school year! Stay involved with the children... We as adults can learn valuable lesson through them. submitted by a grandparent/ parent....
I don't believe that this school is as good as the reputation it has. Although the principal is very thoughtful and personal. One of my childrens teachers was great. She was so personal with my child and the class respected her. On the other hand one of the other teachers, singled my child out terribly. And there are a few other school employees who are really unfriendly. I have high hopes for the school, but I'm glad my children won't attend this school next year.
Mayfield is a good school. I personally have issues with the principal. He does not connect with the kids. Their are quite a few extra activities, but it seems this school is always asking for money for one thing or another. I have enjoyed all of my child's teacher's. Some of them, don't seem to have a whole lot of time for the parent's questions though. This school is trying to keep up with the new crazes and technology and thanks to the parents are doing pretty well. Overall, it's a good school to send your kids too. It is a country school and the kids to get split up for high school which can be hard.
